Aggressive-looking line after 10 min window

Hi everyone! I love this community and usually remain a silent reader but I would really really appreciate some help here.

I rather stupidly tested today in the middle of the day after consuming some tea and water in the morning. I thought that since I am a day or two late it may not make a difference. Unsurprisingly I got a BFN during the 10 minute window.

I fished it out 45 mins later though and it looked like this: i.postimg.cc/CL38vW2m/IMG-20220124-154551.jpg

I know I am supposed to not look at it after 10 mins but now I have and I don't know what to think. This is not really a shadow, it is quite blue, but it was for sure after the time window and I know in theory it should be an evap line. I will retest tomorrow with FMU but I really needed a second opinion in the meantime. Is there any hope this could indicate a BFP that I diluted with liquids or are lines after 10 mins always just evap lines?

I can't see the picture as my work laptop won't let me but I can say that blue dye tests are infamous for evaps. I'd recommend trying with a pink dye test and FMU for peace of mind instead :)

Thank you for replying! I will do that tomorrow if I don't get AF in the meantime. I am discovering a pattern, which is that I wait until my period is late and then - if I have no period-like cramps - I test, but as soon as I test I start getting cramps. Grin

Wow, that definitely doesn't look like an evap at all! I know you're not meant to look after 10 minutes but my first very faint test I done was negative I thought, then I looked about 20 mins later and it was definitely there. I'm now 6 weeks :) these ones are notorious for evaps as pp said, but that's a very bold line. Try a red dye test and you should get your answer. Also, if your next test is fainter (say first morning urine) don't worry. My tests have always been darker in the afternoons and evenings for some reason. Good luck 😁✨️

It looks like there's been a faint line with an evap line on it.
I'd definitely test in the morning. Good luck xx

Thank you, I really appreciate you taking the time to have a look and your encouraging message! It is quite the bold line and not like any evap I have seen before but of course it is fine if it turns out to be one... We will just have to keep trying. Daffodil

I agree with PP that clearblue are notorious for evaps after the time limit. I'd retest with a FRER if I were you!

How did you get on OP?
Defo looks positive x

Hi :) I only had another CB so I took it with FMU and it was again negative within the time frame, then developed a faint thick light blue line. No sign of AF so I am not counting myself out yet just in case I ovulated later than I thought. Will retest in 2-3 days unless the witch comes a-knocking, and I will post an update!

When you do test again, use a pink dye test. Those blue dye tests are awful! At least that way you'll have a definite answer ☺️
