Vasectomy knots?

Hi, my Dh had a vasectomy 18 years ago , we have been together 10 years, for as long as we both can remember he has always had two pronounced " knots" where the vasectomy was tied.
I had a very late period and we had joked about the vasectomy reversing itself which obviously we didn't believe, dh then went to do a quick check down below and on one side the knot has gone and feels like a continous tube?!
Has anyone heard of this?
Surely it hasn't re connected after all this time?

There is a extremely small number of men this happens too any number of years after a vasectomy. It's less than 1% of men can have a spontaneous reversal but it's still possible. The vas deferens can regrow together.I've never heard of a man being able to feel a knot though.

Were his vas deferens clipped or did he have the procedure where a section was cut and both ends were clipped back?;he would have had the second procedure mentioned until a general anesthétic and the first under a local.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply, Dh has just always called them " knots" but they were always very easy to locate and dh seemed to think that they were in the sane area where they made the cut.
He had the first procedure that you desribe but did have massive swelling and complications on one side at the time.
