Hycosy

Hi ladies, I had a HyCosy on Thursday. They took a long time to get the catheter in. At one stage, they had to “manipulate” the cervix and said I would “feel a pinch”. It was so painful (and I have a high pain tolerance) and I felt like I was momentarily going to faint.

I have been brown spotting still and it’s day 4 since procedure. It’s almost like my ovulation discharge is mixed with brown blood? (Sorry for TMI).

Anyone else experienced anything similar? Thank you.

Me! I had one last Wed and had spotting until today. Also the consultant told me the contrast dye they pump in is sticky and takes a while to seep out, so I think that's what looks a bit like ovulatory cervical mucus. Similarly to you, I feel like I have a high pain tolerance and it bloody hurt and I almost fainted too! Consultant put the bed at an angle with my head down to stop me fainting.

Did they give you an antibiotic? The only thing they said to watch out for is weird smelling discharge, as this can mean infection.

I need to have one of these - can I ask what cycle day you had yours, and are you able to TTC this month or were you told to skip a cycle?

Hope you are feeling a bit better soon Flowers

@Decaffe must be after period but before ovulation. Mine was CD10 but could have been anything CD5-CD12

Also you can TTC after, no need to skip a cycle. But cannot have sex day after (infection risk)

Thanks, that’s what I had read too!
