Period 4 days after ovulation?!

Hi, can anyone give advice on what's happened? I got a positive clear blue digital ovulation test along with lots of ewcm! I then got my period 4 days later. Could this be to do with the fact I've only just stopped breastfeeding and hadn't had a period since before my pregnancy?! Ttc #2

Thanks!! Xx

@RLou3 Hi 👋🏼 I can't help with your question as I'm so confused myself too! I had a static smiley on CB ovulation reader then got my period 5days later, my cheapies off the internet were also positive. X

@Holly3 Exactly the same!!! How weird! X

I had this in November, peak ovulation followed by af 3 days later. Ovulation was very late for me that month though, was yours on the dates you expected? Cycle had gone back to normal since so don't know why it happened in November

Hi, sorry I don't have any advice, just wanted to say I had almost exactly the same thing happen - Ovulated Monday, got my period Saturday morning. This means we have had a very short Luteal Phase, something I've noticed on 3/4 of my cycles since coming off the pill. I'm hoping it lengthens on its own, but I have also booked a phone appointment with my doctor to discuss - they will likely tell me to go away as it's only been 4 cycles of trying, but it has been worrying me so I booked it anyway.

Morning! Can I please ask what date you started testing in your cycle? X

LH can sometimes surge again before your period arrives x

Hi there! Sometimes your body can have an LH surge but not actually ovulate, I've recently found this to be the case with me as I only ovulate half the time (one ovary blocked by a cyst.) My consultant explained that the LH surge is only indicative that your body is preparing to ovulate and should hopefully do so in the next 24-48 hours. No ovulation then leads to your period arriving sooner.

However on the other side, LH can also surge before a period, so is it at all possible you started testing too late and missed the first peak? xx

@Holly3 I tested every day from CD8 x
