Improving egg quality

LARBB0707 · 21/01/2022 15:26

Hi
I am starting this thread to see if anyone has any advice/ideas on how if it is possible to improve egg quality. I have had 8 miscarriages and one failed IVF cycle, I had 4 eggs collected and none fertilized. I am 33 and struggling to make sense of all the conflicting information so any advice of supplements or success stories would be greatly appreciated Xxx

Buy yourself a copy of "it starts with the egg" it's all evidence based and is aimed at people who are approaching IVF/TTC journey and who have conditions which may affect fertility.

Good luck!

Try Ubiquinol (rather than Ubiquinone) - people say it’s good for eggs quality. Add a bit of Reflexology and/or Acupuncture - you won’t lose anything trying that. I have just started both Ubiquinol and Reflexology (for stress and for feeling low).

@LARBB0707 Hello! Perhaps have a look into the supplement Impryl. I don’t know for sure how well these supplements work but my sister and her husband used them and conceived after having trouble and they think they possibly helped. Sending lots of luck Smile

Newbiemg · 21/01/2022 19:44

Also I’m so sorry to hear of your mc and failed IVF my sister also had a lot of mc and a stillborn baby before conceiving and now has 3 healthy children so I hope you get your happy ending too ✨

Newbiemg · 21/01/2022 19:46

I should have said before having her children as she had obviously been conceiving but unsuccessfully**

WhereTheresHope4 · 21/01/2022 19:55

I'm sorry to hear of all your losses.
I had several losses so had some tests which showed my blood was clotting which wouldn't allow the pregnancy to continue past the 1st trimester. So now I'm on 2 aspirin per day and daily Clexane injections.

For egg quality - when I had IVF - I took 400mg of CoQ10 ( Pharmanord CoQ10 Gold - 4 x 100mg per day). The embryologist told me my egg quality this time around was much higher than last time and I think this is why.
Also folic acid and vitamin D.

@LARBB0707
The only other thing I did was cut out caffeine and alcohol completely for about 5 weeks before I started the IVF cycle. And drank a lot more water. Along with the CoQ10 Ubiquinol. And there was a big improvement with the quality compared to my 1st cycle. Good luck and hope it all goes well 🌸

My friend had several miscarriages before taking 75mg aspirin daily

SantoPalo · 23/01/2022 10:26

@LARBB0707Has your partner tried a dna fragrmentation test ?

Good advice. Recurrent miscarriages can be caused by dna fragmentation. Sperm analysis doesn't show that. You will have to pay for test seperately. Sperm is as important as the egg so get your partner on vit D, ubiquinol, vit C or proceive for men. Sorry for your miscarriages 💗

At the very least, your DH needs to be on a multivitamin for conception too.

madeleine85 · 20/02/2022 03:35

I’d really recommendCOQ10. It takes 3 months to fully work though. Good luck!

LittleChicken11 · 20/02/2022 17:05

‘Ovum’ supplements are good

I took vita D, folic acid and coq-10 for a few months and ate alot of beets and pomegranate and leafy greens cooked or raw. Cut sugar in diet and eat clean. No idea if any of this helped but we had very great results with my eggs. Embryologist was impressed that out of 8 fertilised eggs all of them fertilised and 7 made it to day 5 with all ranging from top quality to average/good quality.
