Infertility treatment over 40

Hello ladies. Has anyone been prescribed clomid or explored other fertility treatments while over 40? DH and I have begun trying again for baby number 3. First two girls were conceived on clomid, youngest is nearly 6. Due to work, life, covid we just kept putting back trying for baby #3 and I'm now turning 40 in March and starting looking up clomid at 40 and Google was leaning a lot more towards it being frowned on. It's a little shock as last 18 months it's not been happening naturally.

Going to start exploring with the GP but just wanted to see if it's universal that they tend not to prescribe it if you are 40

Clomid is possibly the only thing you can get on the NHS at the moment when you already have children. Even things like Laparoscopic drilling and hsgs seem to be focussed on women without children. I’d suggest going to a fertility clinic to try and see if you can get fast tracked for proper checkups - some of them will refer you directly to an NHS gaene for procedures etc if needed.

Hi 👋🏼 yes I had 2 lots of Clomid when I was about 41. I couldn't cope with the severe side effects however and had to stop. But strangely, and despite never being able to conceive before, I somehow got pregnant naturally not too long after at almost 44 years old and I'm currently 30 weeks.

Forgot to say yes they do give it to women over 40. My consultant was telling me she had one lady about 46 who got pregnant that way. Best of luck with it!

Hi I am 40thy and on 2nd round clomid just 50mg. How much was you taking 50mg or 100mg? We are trying for 2 years.
I don't have any kids yet.
