Hi Everyone,

I thought I’d start a new thread for February following the January one.

About to start month 4 of TTC after a MC last month.

The months seem so long with a TWW thrown in but then I also can’t believe I’m about to start cycle 4! (I know that isn’t a long time for some of us and that makes me feel sad, TTC is so unfair at times)

Anyway, feel free to join if you’d like to get through February together! X

@mightbeyesmightbeno is it fertilily you tried? I also have trouble getting it in and keeping it in and it's so uncomfortable. I have bought a new one called a twoplus sperm guide (one of the girls from another thread posted about it so wanted to give it a go). Haven't tried it yet, but hoping it will be better.

mightbeyesmightbeno · 26/01/2022 16:05

@lakejupiter oh I'm really sorry to hear that. I think I probably missed that in the thread. Fingers crossed for Feb for you!

@Tinkerbell098 no it's just a cheapie off the internet / I didn't want to spend too much but it looks exactly like the fertiliy one. No problem once it's in / not uncomfortable for me, just awkward to get it in unless I stand with one leg up (like on the loo or bath side / this is the same as when putting a tampon in for me). Think my cervix tilts down quite a lot, so I don't know if this is the trouble.

lakejupiter · 26/01/2022 16:09

No worries @mightbeyesmightbeno I've been quiet on this thread as on a January thread for the last cycle

I use the Fert Lily and I found it was quite hard to get the hang of but now I have it's fairly straightforward and can insert it straight after, with hips propped up in the air a bit. I flip mine inside out like in the Ferti Lily video and that helps me insert it. And having an orgasm after I have put it in seems to help suck it into place lol. I do already use menstrual cups for AF though so maybe I'm more practiced - but even so the Ferti Lily goes up so much higher and I did need the practice runs to get the hang of it!

lakejupiter · 26/01/2022 16:10

*Ferti Lily

MrsSamRowley · 26/01/2022 16:12

@lakejupiter we're in exactly the same boat - was feeling really positive about this month, DTD at all the right times and...now on CD2 with the worst AF - it's like that scene in The Shining (sorry that was graphic!)

Fingers crossed February is our month!

lakejupiter · 26/01/2022 16:13

It's the worst isn't it @MrsSamRowley - and same here - The Shining / Carrie style bloodbath. Take care of yourself ❤️

mightbeyesmightbeno · 26/01/2022 16:23

@lakejupiter hmmmm interesting to know about the orgasm. And yeh, it does need to go really high doesn't it?! I'm sure I'll get there with practice. But I'll try lying with hips up. I guess for me I find it embarrassing if DH is in the room so will have to try and kick him out straight after next time and then faff around myself for a few mins ...

lakejupiter · 26/01/2022 16:26

Yes kick him out @mightbeyesmightbeno and fiddle around with the cup 😂 I found the videos on the Ferti Lily website super helpful and turning it inside out to insert it was def a game changer for me. Yes cervix so high that time of the month, really had to kinda reach up there!!

Natalie2304 · 26/01/2022 16:28

@mightbeyesmightbeno I watched the you tube video from the founder of fertilily about how to use it safely etc and he said that they recommend leaving it in for 20-60mins, 20 is the ideal and enough time for it have to required effect but if you couldn't take it out after 20 then leaving it in wouldn't hurt as it is made from approved silicone. He said you can leave it in overnight but wouldn't recommend to do this often so if you did fall asleep from what he said it wouldn't cause much harm. Don't think I'll be consciously doing that though!

I really struggled before my DD to find my cervix but it is a lot easier now. I found the fertilily hard to use until I tried it after DTD as it went in much easier (because of the extra fluids!) I do think it's the kind of thing that gets easier with practise!

I'm sorry to the ladies who are currently with AF. Hopefully only a few days to go and you can start afresh xxx

Mariabombia · 26/01/2022 17:38

@Curlywurly3 sounds like an amazing lunch hour 😜 wish my DH could WFH sometimes haha.

@lakejupiter oh no :( that's crap . Hope you're okay. All the best for feb!!

@mightbeyesmightbeno @Tinkerbell098 the fertility seems quite expensive for what it is! Have you heard much positive feedback about it working? I've been told I have a 'tilted cervix' when I've had smear tests so would probably be even more difficult to do 🤨

mightbeyesmightbeno · 26/01/2022 17:42

@Natalie2304 @lakejupiter thanks ladies!

lakejupiter · 26/01/2022 17:51

@Mariabombia I also have a tilted cervix and didn't find it hard to get the hang of (with practice!) it's not cheap but same price as most menstrual cups I've bought over the years so assuming it's just how much reusable silicone stuff costs?? You can buy one use menstrual/cervical discs for less but they are much harder to use and more uncomfortable IME. I've heard great things about the Ferti Lily - there's a good thread on it on here and reviews on Amazon etc - and a lot of gay TTC couples/coparents like me are big fans, it's a great conception aid for home inseminations.

@Sunrise321 I feel your pain! Commiserating my AF with a glass of red and looking ahead to February now. It's my wedding anniversary on the 8th so fingers crossed it'll be lucky! February could be our month!

Mariabombia · 26/01/2022 19:32

@lakejupiter yeah you're probably right, I'm just being a tight arse because ttc is accumulatively so expensive 😬 good to know it works with a tilted cervix though, thanks for the info.

May have to give one a whirl next month if no positive! Been trying to put my legs in the air for 15 mins after 🤣

@Sunrise321 hope you're okay, CD1 is brutal :( sending love 💕

@MrsSamRowley awww that's my bday! Happy anniversary for then. It's a Chinese lucky number too. Hopefully a good sign for us both haha.

lakejupiter · 26/01/2022 19:45

@Mariabombia you're not wrong - supplements and OPKs and pregnancy tests and the rest all adds up 😂 and who knows how much difference each thing makes...

MrsSamRowley · 26/01/2022 20:18

@Mariabombia yes here's hoping it's a lucky day for us both!

@Decaffe

Sooo my ovulation is missing 😂 Ever since I have been tracking, it has been CD9-13. Usually 12 or 13 and only earlier due to Covid jabs.

Well, today is CD13 so I was expecting an OPK peak yesterday, and… nothing!

I am so confused?!

If I don’t get a peak today I’m going to be worried!

Did you ovulate early after your covid vaccine?

I think I did last month and missed my chance to conceive. I haven't come across anyone else who did. All the other reports here were that it delayed ovulation rather than bring it on faster than normal.

Natalie2304 · 26/01/2022 21:30

@AmberRH1993 I love this keeping feet and uterus warm idea! I've been so roasting for the last 3 days 🥰

Natalie2304 · 26/01/2022 21:31

*toasty! Not roasting!

MummyMe87 · 26/01/2022 22:14

Coming to the end of ovulation day, and starting the TWW. I want to be positive and hopeful, it’s just hard. Will try and keep myself toasty this next week

Cookiedough123 · 26/01/2022 22:43

@Natalie2304 I always sleep with a water bottle at my feet. Even more of a reason to do so now !

RosyappleA · 26/01/2022 23:04

Oh my ladies you just reminded me it is my anniversary this saturday! All this ttc malarcky and i was more concerned it is my ovulation day.

Toddler has decided she won’t go back to sleep so there goes another flashing smiley day to waste better luck tomorrow i guess.

Decaffe · 26/01/2022 23:04

Yes @QueenBee22, all three times. Wherever I was in my cycle while having the jab, it made the next full cycle shorter.

I’m normally pretty regular at 27/28 days… instead it made them 26, 25 and 23!
