so i COULD BE pregnant?

following my 'I'm not pregnant' thread in the health section earlier today... I did another preg test and think i got a positive. dh and a friend also think its a bfp.
briefly, i've felt sick and very preg for 3 weeks now...did a few tests, al bfn, i thought i got an evap line on a test i did friday. but af came yesterday, or so i thought. have felt sick still so did another test this afternoon. it does look like a feint positive. I am bleeding but its not like a normal period. I am getting cramps too, but not severe... Can an implatation bleed be fresh bright red blood? or is it likely to be the start of a miscarrigae? would i still feel sick if it were though?

hearing your thoughts/expereicnes would help. thank you.

When I was pg I did have a small bleed around the time my period was due. Sorry can't remember colour etc but I know I did have crampy type pain, particularly on one side. In fact I thought my period had arrived at first.

I TTC for 2 years then 2 Chrismases ago was due AF Boxing day. Had cramps and light bleeding, kept running to the loo tampax in hand but nothing more than tiny spotting. I was so busy I never even considered being PG - DP and I had not been too active TTC that month as I was booked to see the GP for a referal to a consultant about the lack of positives!

So by New Year I realised AF had not ever really started yet I felt bad cramps and really sore norks. I did a PG test NY day and got a v fient line. I walked into the bedroom and handed it to DP who said "whats this?" then not much else for quite a while We debated the fient line, I did not have any more tests so agreed we would hold off until I saw the GP later that week.

Sorry the point of my story now! GP said a line is a line and yes you are PG - he was right but no one ever tested me until my 12 weeks scan (at 16 weeks ). They are so sure home tests are acurate that you should be PG.

On the bleeding question - mine was so light I never even leaked, just a tiny bit on the tissue paper and iirc it was brown more than red. But everyone is different.

Sorry for the rambling post - I am remembering things at this time of year. I hope all goes well for you. Go buy more tests tomorrow and do more over the next few days.

i think you should speak to anout of hours gp. i hope that you are pg, but you need to rule out an ep. im a bit concerned that if youare pg you are still not getting clear (by the sounds of it) bfp's at 5+w. im probably talking out of my nostril and i dont want to scare you, but you should get it checked out. hth

I think if you get another bfp tomorrow but continue to bleed, you need to rule out ectopic pregnancy, it is possible to bleed with a normal pregnancy though, I did with all of mine

sorry, should add that i bled from 5w-20wwhen pg with ds, but now i am over-cautious when it comes to this stuff

well... my period was only actually due today which would make me 4 weeks? Its possible that my last pregnancy was a twin preg, but only one survived. i had huge internal bleed at 4 weeks and had surgery.. they werent sure of the cause but said it was prob an ectopic loss. the cramps i'm getting now are nothing like the pain i had then.

you will need to go to epu or casualty if epu not open, you will be scanned to see if pregnancy is in the right place, also blood tests will be taken to check if your hormones are rising normally

They would scan to see where the foetus is lying.

they will take yourbloods every couple ofdaysto ensure that HCG levels are multiplying. then a scan at 6w, i must stress that it is probably NOT an ectopic, but when you said that you felt like this for 3w i assumed that you would be 5w pg now

andwith history of suspected ep you need extra checks in early pg. i have to test after every period and have to book in for a scan asap whenever iam pg

not sure that a scan can be done this early.. if i am pregnant i am only 4 weeks...

i could ask for bloods to be done if i get a bfp in morning, but i'm going away for a week!

Actually, when I went to the dr he sent me for a scan and they did blood tests every day to check hcg levels. The scan at that point showed nothong much so I had to keep going back as my hormone levels were doing something odd(I think they weren't high enough then they tripled). What this all meant I don't know but the rest of the pregnancy went fine. I would check it all out with the doctor to be on the safe side though.

Sorry blood tests every other day. Had to go back for scans every two weeks I think then at 7/8weeks they finally saw DD's heartbeat. The people in the scanning deparetment were tuuting about me having such an early scan though, they said it was too early to see much.

right. now i am pissed off with this whole bollocks... can't i just get on with christmas?

Did another test... NEGATIVE? what? me, dh and friend all saw a bfp yest!

Immerse yourself in christmas for the next couple of days and try to hold out doing another test until after Boxing Day.

Easy for to say I know, but I can tell you are getting stressed about it all, and you need to give yourself a break.

Have a good christmas, and fingers crossed there will be a bfp in a few days timexx

I'm not stressed about it, I just want to know one way or the other... either result is fine, we weren't ttc so i'm not desperately seeking a positive. if we get one then thats fine, we'll cope. Just dont understand how i can feel so sick, get a bfp and then bfn

Was your positive with first morning pee? That is when the hormone is stronger I think, also different brands pick up different levels.

If you are PG then your hormone levels tend to double every 2-3 days so I agree with the suggestion to test on Boxing Day.

I would leave it until after christmas, then test again, I had negs after pos when I have been pregnant,in the early stages,its best to use early morning wee, or if you test during the day, dont drink much in the preceeding hour aas it dilutes the hormone

thats the odd thing. the bfp was with mid morning wee and the negative was with first morning wee. same brands. will wait till boxing day and see what happens. bleeding had stopped though, still feel sick!

what sort of test are you using? if its a clear blue and you can see a pencil thin blue line to the left hand side then its a negative if the line is thick and making an actual cross its positive. i had this confusion. I will post a pic of my test so you can see what its like as a bfp. Thats if your actually using cb if not then i dunno

okay... still dont know whats up with me. don't think i am pregnant as did another test on 27th and thats neg too. the 'period' wasnt like a normal period... not sure what to make of that. i still have nausea and heightened taste etc... still feel exhausted despite a relaxing xmas
