Chemical pregnancy

Would anyone mind sharing their chemical pregnancy experiences with me please? I know it’s a very sensitive subject but I think I might be experiencing one and feel so confused. I tested positive on 31st December (approx 12dp), strong frer and 1-2 weeks on CB digital. At 16dpo, the lines had gotten much stronger on frer and I got 2-3 on CB digital. However since then my lines are definitely getting lighter, and no longer stealing dye from the test line. I did another test today (20 dpo) and got 1-2 weeks again. I do still have sore, tender boobs but I don’t feel bloated anymore. No cramping or bleeding. Does this sound like the beginning of a chemical? Strangely about 2 days ago, I just woke up and didnt feel pregnant anymore. Hence why I kept testing. Just feel a bit lost atm.

Sorry OP I haven’t experienced this but didn’t want to read and run and wanted to give your post a little bump so hopefully someone can help you. Sending you lots of luck Flowers

Thank you, very kind of you.

I'm 5 weeks today. But took another easy @ home test today and it's very faint. So not looking good.

Still no cramps or bleeding so just don't know how to feel about it.

I had a couple.
Had faint tests that got a little stronger then started to get fainted and then within a few days of the positive and my period due date I started bleeding.

Sorry If this does happen to you it's very upsetting but it is common and doesn't always have any reason to prevent you having a successful pregnancy next time

cantbelieveit2022 · 09/01/2022 16:01

Thank you @Fredsgirl19. Yes from what I've been reading it does seem to be quite common.

My biggest worry is what it will be like. My period is a week late. And all my tests up until a few days ago have been very strong. Think this makes me very much nervous that when the bleeding does come it's going to be quite painful. Feels like I'm just waiting at the moment.

I had a chemical when I first started TTC...I got a positive on both FRER and CB digital.

I then did another CB digital a few days later and it came back with 'not pregnant'. Period arrived the day after.

Sorry if this is happening to you. While it is common it is still very upsetting.

Thank you. Yes, it's surprising how hard it's hitting me to be honest.

Keep thinking if I hadn't continued to test I'd be sitting here blissfully unaware until the bleeding starts. Can't decide which is better/worse!!

My period was no heavier or mor painful with any of mine so hopefully if it doesn't happen it will be ok for you too. I really
Hope it doesn't though but the progesterone won't have built up enough to cause too much extra lining so wouldn't expect heavy bleeding and clots at just a week over but still the emotional side of it can s tough so look after yourself and rest up ... BUT you never know lots of things can alter the strength of the line like how diluted your wee is or time of day etc so don't count yourself out yet

cantbelieveit2022 · 10/01/2022 22:39

@Fredsgirl19 thanks for letting me know. Still no bleeding or cramping. And todays test much lighter again. I used all the same tests throughout, and at the same time of day. Really unsure what to do next. Do I ring the doctor and explain about the tests? Or just let them eventually go negative and leave it?

It's such a hard situation because there isn't sadly muxh a doctor can do in the early stages it's really a matter of waiting it out. I would stop testing because for me it made everything so much harder. Do another test in a week if you still haven't started bleeding and then maybe ask gp to feed you to early pregnancy unit or , if you are in London, some have walk in early pregnancy units. Hope you are ok

Mine was over before it started really. My period was expected Christmas day but I hadn't started spotting like I normally do so I did a FRER on Christmas Eve and had a very faint pink line, the kind you can't even photograph because it's so faint (though visible to the naked eye). I then started spotting on Christmas morning and my period arrived two days late on the 27th.

I hope you have a more positive outcome :)

@cantbelieveit2022 hi op, really sorry you're going through this, I had the same back in November & it hit me harder than expected. Within a week my tests had gone from strong to non-existent. Took about a week for my bleeding to start & was a bit more painful/heavy than usual. It might be worth calling your EPU if you don't start bleeding in the next few days in case you need to have any intervention. They'll advise you best on what to do. Hope you're ok🤞🏼

Mine was 5 days of positive tests slowly getting darker but never really dark. I stopped testing because it was stressing me out. I tested a week later because I wanted to see the digital change to 2-3 but it was still 1-2, the next day did a couple more tests and they were definitely lighter than before. 2 days later I had a small bleed and when I got back from Christmas I was testing negative. It was 12 days from first positive test to the bleed but it still wasn't worse than a normal period. Hope everything is ok but if it's not, it shouldn't be too bad

Hi OP!
Sorry you are going through this!
I got a positive test 16dpo and started bleeding the same evening, it was horrible to find out I was pregnant, then that I wasn’t all in one day!
Even when I was bleeding and quite clearly having a chemical my GP still saw me, even though there was nothing they could do. They made sure I had nothing scary making me bleed and took my HCG levels.
I say it’s worth seeing someone, particularly to make sure you’re not having an ectopic.
My bleeding lasted five days, was visibly brighter red that my usual period, but nowhere near as painful. My cycle was also normal after, no late ovulation. Given the s**y circumstances I was lucky compared to some.
I hope you get a positive outcome I really do.
If you don’t just know you’re not alone, rest up and take care of yourself ❤️
