Hey guys wanted to know how long it took you to conceive baby #2 it’s my 2nd month trying and can’t wait to see a bfp. It took 3 months with my first who is 2 years old next month. Just hate to see a BFN

Place marking as I’m interested to know too.

Took one cycle to conceive #1, 4 cycles in TTC#2 and no BFP yet.

MyloC · 04/01/2022 20:27

Sorry I'm joining to see the answers!
TTC #2 first baby took 4 cycles but actually realised we were missing ovulation so I guess really only 1 cycle.

I'm 7DPO tested today of course negative but will test again in a few days.

winolady · 04/01/2022 20:39

Sorry OP but I'm also here for the responses. I am TTC no2, no1 took 1 cycle so I have no experience of anything longer.

This time I'm on cycle 1 and currently on 11dpo, tested negative this morn but only with a Tesco cheapie. Have told myself I must wait until Saturday when I'm due on!

Sending baby dust all round ❤️

Hi @Mummy202102 I'm also in my 2nd month TTC with #2, although last month we didn't actively try at the right time so feels like the first proper cycle. We were very lucky it happened the first cycle with DD1 so hoping for the same luck again or not too much longer. It feels like one of the few things in life you can't really plan for or control

Mummy202102 · 04/01/2022 22:42

Yep definitely hopefully we all get lucky this month.it’s the waiting game as soon as ovulation is over I just keep doing tests and spot every little symptom lol. Good luck ever one and let us know for updates

Last time it was easier however this time dh does 24 hour shifts every 2 days and I’m afraid we might be missing the best time of ovulation Hmm

@Mummy202102
DD1 took 4 months ttc just got bfp at Christmas time for baby 2 which took 9 months , most people I know the 2nd baby usually takes longer but everyone is different

RosyappleA · 05/01/2022 02:15

Most people i know ttc #2 took longer too. I conceived first time the first two pregnancies but the second ended in miscarriage. Now on my third month ttc #2. Life was much simpler trying for number one, we were all over each-other and had no-one else to look after lol, fewer obligations all round. Now my toddler is an absolute nightmare with sleep especially so actually physically getting together is becoming very problematic! Never been so exhausted, that’s the both of us. Other half also has more work commitments and i stay away one-two two nights every week due to childcare arrangements so that I can work. Lots has been getting in the way.
Good luck!

Mummy202102 · 05/01/2022 03:35

@O @RosyappleAh I know right baby #1 is always the easiest now you have to literally plan it according to LO routine lol! Wish you all good luck praying for BFP this month @Kiaa congratulations so happy for you!!! ❤️

@Mummy202102 thank you lovely 🥰 best of luck to you 🌟

Coastaldreamer · 05/01/2022 11:28

Hey can I also jump onto this one :)

Cycle 1 day 10 on TTC #2, DD who is now 19 months took 8 cycles so that felt like an age in itself. The nurse told me this time should theoretically take less time so I'm praying she was right!

Doing the SMEP method tracking with OPKS and using conceive plus as that was what worked the cycle we conceived DD.

DH is all like "don't worry if it doesn't happen first time" and you know you that the worry will be there either way!

Sending baby dust to you all! X

mightbeyesmightbeno · 05/01/2022 15:22

Also TTC# 2. DD took 4 months to conceive, although on the first cycle we didn't start having unprotected sex until day after I O'd, so I guess only really 3 cycles of trying.

This is my third cycle now of TTC#2 and I'm hoping for the best but not really expecting it this month.

DH is also "what will be will be", but I don't want much more of an age gap, and due to this and my age I think I'll probably stop wanting to try around September this year. So hoping for the best before then!

@Coastaldreamer interesting the nurse said that - were they a fertility nurse? Any more info?

Although from what I read no.2 takes longer but I think that'll be down to parents being busy, like other posters have said.

1940s · 05/01/2022 16:48

2 months for baby one and 18 months including ivf for baby two. No rhyme nor reason to it!

Daisysandviolets · 05/01/2022 18:51

It took 3 months for DD1 and then I feel really lucky but fell on the first cycle with DC 2 and currently 12 weeks xx

SunnySideUp2020 · 05/01/2022 20:18

Interested in responses too!
Been trying for #2 since September.
I am still breastfeeding and my cycles are so long...

First one took 1 miscarriage on first month trying and then another 7 months and lots of opks and dtd 😅

Now so busy with first and DH busy with work. So it is hard to actually find time to dtd!

Like you @mightbeyesmightbeno if i am not pregnant by the end of the year I will stop trying. Also Don't want a bigger gap

Coastaldreamer · 06/01/2022 10:08

@mightbeyesmightbeno no, not a fertility nurse. She just said well your body knows what it's doing second time round and therefore should happen quicker. But I deffo agree with a toddler it's harder to find that energy to DTD!

Doing SMEP method and I'm a few days away from dtd three days in a row, feeling sorry for DH already Blush.

Mummy202102 · 06/01/2022 13:05

@Coastaldreamer my husband said that too but with me I always over think which is also not good

@mightbeyesmightbeno aww bless you hopefully we all get lucky this month. I also don’t want a big age gap. DD is ready to be a big sis

Don’t really get time to dtd I’m ovulating today. Was doing the deed last night and dd woke up put her back to sleep and started again and the vibe was gone haha do u think I should dtd again today or tomorrow?

OP posts:
mightbeyesmightbeno · 06/01/2022 16:05

@Mummy202102 if you think O today then I think try to DTD today if pos x

Red2017 · 06/01/2022 16:21

DD1 took around 3 years. I have no idea how I stayed sane lol
After 6 months of trying I had a chemical pregnancy and now 6 months later I received a BFP a couple of days ago. Fingers cross this one sticks.

1moretry · 07/01/2022 20:47

DC1 first try.
18 months into ttc number 2!

BabyBird20 · 07/01/2022 21:58
