Low morphology ttc 2nd child

Hi.
A bit of background me and Dh have a DS who is nearly 4. He was concieved on the 6th round of clomid due to me having pcos and not ovulating.
Since birth of DS we have never used contraception and have been actively Ttc since Jan 2020, I now have fairly regular periods, positive Opks and Ewcm monthly. A recent ultrasound showed no abnormalities so I'm guessing this means my pcos is no more? I fell pregnant in March of this year but unfortunatley miscarried in May. Other than that we have had no sniff of a pregnancy.
Last month my husband had a semen analysis. His numbers were excellent apart from his morphology which was 1.5 percent.
So what I am wanting to know now is how likely is it we will fall pregnant again with low morphology? Has anyone else experienced this? Iv read conflicting things about it, some seem to think it shouldn't cause issues if other numbers are good, but then some have had ivf due to it?
Is there anything we can do to improve morphology? We both take proceive max supplements. Any other tips or advice greatly appreciated.
Thankyou

Hi, no advice but I’m in a similar position (I think). My DS had an analysis when we were TTC #1 and his morphology was 1%. Everything else was fine. We did go on to conceive our DS but it took 13 cycles, don’t know whether that was the reason or if we were just unlucky. I’m sure supplements for him helped but will never know for sure either.

Now TTC #2, been trying for around four or five months now and nothing. I did conceive back in May when we were not trying but had a chemical. So it absolutely is possible, for me it just feels like it will take longer and I worry that we won’t be as lucky this time around

Give the supplement proxeed a go.

It's not a miracle by any stretch but I do think it helped us get pregnant. It's expensive (though cheaper than IVF) and you have to give it about 3-4 months to see if it helps the new sperm he makes.

@charl881 that's the general feeling I am getting too. I'm hopeful if will happen eventually but the waiting is soul destroying especially as it feels most others concieve so quickly and we're not getting any younger!

@twizbe iv heard a few people mention proxeed il have a look in to it. The proceive max is quite expensive too but if it works it's worth paying for isn't it. Thankyou!

Hi @user1489320949, I didn't want to read and run. Just wanted to say we're in a very similar position.
DC1 took a year to conceive and is now approaching 4 years old. We had no tests the first time but this time we have had we too have been ttc properly for no.2 since around January 2020.
The tests we had in April showed DH has 1% morphology but high count. I have a short luteal phase so they prescribed me progesterone which I started in May. Since May and September we fell pregnant three times but each one ended in CP. Because of this they assumed it was low progesterone that was the cause for not falling pregnant beforehand so they increased my dose.
We were feeling really hopefully but since increasing my dose in September we haven't fallen pregnant once!

So we're pretty fed up. We've decided the next three months we are completely banning any alcohol and caffeine, and we're being extra healthy. If after this we don't have any success, we're going down the IVF route.
It's really taking its toll now. We're seeing everyone fall pregnant, or they already have no.2 and it's so upsetting. Especially as our DC begs me for a baby sister all the time ☹️

Be careful with proxeed. I know a lot of people swear by it but my DH took it because his has a low count and after taking proxeed his count was even lower.

@emmyanddreams wow are situations do sound similar. I find it really hard that my little boy doesn't have a sibling the guilt is just terrible isn't it.
We have spoken about ivf but need to properly look in to the price etc as we would not get funding for it due to already having one DC. Really hoping we can achieve a pregnancy naturally without having to go down that route!
@fairgame84 that's interesting thanks for that info

@user1489320949 oh I know, the guilt is unreal.
I know it's a shame that we wouldn't get funding as we've already a child. We've been 'planning' IVF for a while just to be prepared when/if that time comes.
I really hope we both manage to conceive naturally 🤞

We had difficulty conceiving second time round too. My DH was diagnosed with low motility (although it was only slightly lower than normal) and that was the only thing they could find. After an ectopic in April this year we decided to do IVF and it thankfully worked first time (we are so grateful that our baby is due in June). My DH took Impryl and his motility had vastly improved by the time we did iVF - might be worth looking into this as I've heard it can improve morphology too. We had a really good result with IVF and have 3 embryos in the freezer. It is expensive, but shop around. We went with ABC fertility, which is a lower cost option. They only take women that fit a certain criteria but we found them great and very cost effective.

@loulou2021 thanks for that ivv just had a look at the clinic and there is one local to me so it's definitely something to keep in mind. I think it will be good to set a cut off point in our minds and if I'm not pregnant by then to start the ivf journey or could go on forever. Will have a look in to the supplement too. Thankyou

@user1489320949 yes that's a good idea and what we did - we gave ourselves a cut off. There will be 5 and 1/2 years between my DS and new baby, which isn't at all what I wanted but I'm looking at the positives now. We had such a good result with IVF I wish we had done it sooner, but you just always hope it will happen naturally and I expected the IVF process to be very gruelling so kept putting it off I didn't find the process too bad at all (at ABC they do mild IVF so you get a much lower dose of stimulation, so I didn't really have any side effects from the hormones). Hopefully you won't need to go down that road, but if you do, feel free to contact me and I'd be happy to tell you more about my experience with the clinic (positives and negatives). Wishing you the best of luck!

Well low and behold after being a few days late on my period I have taken a test today which is glaringly positive! I'm in shock!
Obviously very early days but fingers crossed for a sticky bean this time!!
