I know how you feel, I have been there a few years ago, the wait is hell!

Didn't want your post to go unanswered and thought it might help hearing my story. I was not ovulating due to PCOS and after the third month of Clomid I fell pregnant.
My little clomid baby was 4 yesterday (And has a little sister of 6mths! I fell pregnant naturally with her whilst waiting on my appt to get clomid again!)

It is well worth the waiting about when you get the result you long for.

Hope you can start it very soon, good luck x

Hi, sorry I just saw this! What cycle days have you to take the clomid on? I took mine from days three to seven (inclusive)

I should think that a couple of drinks won't hurt, just don't go mad!

I didn't have any side effects really, maybe a few mood swings but nothing too bad.

Hope you enjoy your night out. Keep us updated on the clomid. Are you being monitored? I was when I first started the clomid. In case of hyper ovarian stimulation or something like that. They checked the follicle lengths and everything.

Good luck, will keep my fingers crossed for you

Have a great Christmas x

You should be monitored whilst on clomid as you have no way of knowing whether its working or not otherwise. Its quite powerful stuff and is not suitable for everyone to take. It should ideally be given under a gynae's supervision.

If you have an underactive thyroid you may well need something else to treat this particular problem.

I would return to your GP and insist you are referred to a gynae at a subfertility unit.

hi ya attila!!

i am taking thyroxine for my thyroid problem.
my gp says that there is no problem me taking clomid and she said she would keep me right!!!

i thought like you said you would be referred to a clinic but the gp just give me it!!

i am worried now should i not be taking it??

I would take the medication you've been given (especially the thyroxine) but ask them to monitor you as well. No monitoring at all is not good. How long are they going to keep you on clomid for?.

sambrads · 28/12/2007 11:46

i have to take it for 5 days then see what happens they will probably put me on it again next month if nothing happens???

how long did you take it?

Hi sorry I had to hunt for this thread again!

I was on my third month of clomid when I got pregnant.

I thought you had to be monitored as Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) can occur with Clomid.

I took mine on days 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 of my cycle but not sure what is normal. I was also given injections for the first few weeks of my pregnancy. (to help my body reatin the pregnancy)

I agree with Atilla and think you should ask for a referral to a consultant.
Hope you get that BFP soon!
Good luck.
