actually its not me, it's my sister, but she would never come on here and ask!

so....i ordered her a kit from the internet with the syringe and specimin pot. she does the opks to find the best time to do it.......but what else?

how far should the syringe go in? she said its only about 4cm long which doesnt seem long enough to me. and should she do it lying on her back with pillows under her bum or something?

any advice appreciated!

4cms isn't even 2 inches - that doesn't sound right to me.

Have you tried looking up impatience?

Hi by the way and congrats on birth of your daughter!! I'm still here as you can see. boo!

surely something as important as that would come with full and complete instructions !

Try a 10ml syringe. You can get them from medical supplies online. Don't think length that important. She should poss get 'Its a Family Affair - lesbian parenting' by Lisa Saffron - or check out lesbian insemination websites (even if not gay, they have info on techniques). Seems to be not that diff to straight conception via sex - some people get pregnant, others don't, irrespective of technique.
If she's going to have a baby this way she might have to think about being pro-active and getting the kit and info herself! No-one's going to do the hospital/birth/explaining to child where its come from for her! Sorry if that sounds insensitive - just that AI and getting pregnant are really only the beginning of many dilemmas.
