Hi all. I’m on CD26 today but do not know the exact date of ovulation as I only came off the pill a couple of months ago but expect FW to be between 19-24 December as things became regular quite quickly for me.

I took a test this morning (one of the strip ones) as I have had on & off back ache since predicted fertile window. After a dot came up on the strip test, I did a FRER but that is clearly a BFN?

DH says he can’t see anything on either test Halo Thanks!

Those are negative tests. Good luck next time xx

Chanel05 · 02/01/2022 10:52

Sorry, both negative.

The cheapie would have a line ever so slightly to the left of the dot on the test.

Hairyfriend · 02/01/2022 10:54

I had a similar dot on those cheapy strips- are they 'one step'? There were also a whole batch of those which were duds. I had false positives, false negatives and when they did work- they took forever and were incredibly faint. I cant see a line on either test though.

Thanks everyone! I thought as much but have always got nothing at all on the cheap strip tests so was unsure what a dot meant Confused

I think they are one step ones yes @Hairyfriend! I might just throw them away if they are as unreliable as you said Shock

They are negative tests, sorry! Good luck for the future x

OP- I used one step for years. They are really cheap online and handy, BUT. As mentioned up thread, I'd read on MN about an entire dud batch- I had some of those! I occasionally got the little dot/partial line like you did- which amounted to nothing. When I actually was pregnant, they took ages to show the line, and even at 8 weeks and after a scan confirmed a pregnancy- the line was always very faint.

I found them handy for cheap and serial testing, but always had a proper FRER's to verify any suspicious lines/spots - as you did. Best of luck though.

These were my 11dpo tests like yours if any help for comparison. Worth noting that there was a change from vvvvfl to fl within 12 hours, so if in doubt it's worth waiting to do another. I'm now 7 weeks, happy baby making op 😊

Thank you @Hairyfriend. That is helpful to know moving forward. Smile

Thanks for the photos @Sunnytimes21, really interesting and useful to see actual pictures. Congratulations on your pregnancy Grin

No problem and thank you 🥰. Here's all my 11dpo morning tests, also just for interest. I know I loved to see a good test in the 8 months I was ttc 😁
