Drinking before TTC

I've been laying off booze and caffeine for a few months now with a view to TTC in Feb.

But when I went to see my mum over Christmas she said that it seemed a bit extreme, that there was no use not having the odd drink as we are not trying yet. She convinced me to have a couple of glasses on Christmas Eve, which is fine I assume.

Doc said occasional drink is fine, but sources online say you should have nothing the 6 months before TTC.

What have others done? I'm 27 with no health issues if that makes a difference.

Do what ever feels right for you. No alcohol is probably golden standard but a few drinks are v unlikely to make a difference.

I suspect a lot of babies are conceived after a few drinks too many!!

@Mushrooms0up haha that's exactly what my doc said

Yes quitting alcohol prior to being pregnant is extreme, quitting during ttc or even months before ttc is quite frankly bonkers!
