did a test, have done several of the same test over the past week. all negative. today, i could see where the positive line would come up... really difficult to describe, but it was a white line that was darker than the white stick, so i could see a line if i tilted the test slightly... this isnt a positive is it?

if you have had a number of negative tests, then this too could be negative. how late are you?

yellowbean · 21/12/2007 20:51

oh, i dipped another one in water to see if the same happened, if there was an indent on the tests or something, couldnt see a line...

have you tried testing with the first wee of the day, when the HcG is most concentrated in your urine>

yellowbean · 21/12/2007 20:53

af was only due today (if 26 day cycle) or on sunday if its gonna be a 28.... i vary between the 2 usually

when is af due?

lulumama · 21/12/2007 20:53

might be worth waiting until sunday morning and doing a test with the first wee of the day ?

yellowbean · 21/12/2007 20:55

yeah i will do another on sunday... have felt like shit for 3 weeks now... just wish i could either get a positive or a period!

OP posts:
lulumama · 21/12/2007 20:55

hopefully you will know either way in a couple of days

merrylissiemas · 21/12/2007 20:55

agree with lulu, and get a test from asda/tesco (£3.88 for 2) more reliable than ebay cheapies imho and ime

yellowbean · 21/12/2007 20:56

i only got the ebay ones cos they claim to be more sensitive... bet thats crap though

it is tbh. these companies are very cynical and push the "early result angle" relentlessly. and the tests will rarely give a more accurate result early on.

yellowbean · 21/12/2007 21:02

really. thats bad, at least they were cheap i guess. what a waste of time.

The ebay tests I used were reliable. They were just cheap because of lack of packaging/plastic. I got a bfp at 8dpo, a week before af was due. There's nowt wrong with cheap tests, although early testing with any brand is going to be a bit hit and miss. I agree, test again on Sunday.

Best of luck to you.

yellowbean · 21/12/2007 21:34

oh well, i'll test again in couple days. just thought i'd ask if anyone else had seen similar on their tests
