Conceive naturally at 42, first child?

I was just wondering has anyone here or knows of someone that conceived naturally and that was their first pregnancy when they were 42 or above? That resulted in a live birth.

Did they also go on to have subsequent children? If so, at what ages? Where they natural pregnancies too?
If they took clomid I'd like to hear about that too.

Thanks

Yes I know someone who tried to conceive for years and conceived naturally with their first and only at 42

Me. After 4 miscarriages, I delivered our son a few weeks before I turned 43. 2 more miscarriages and I'm now 34 weeks pregnant at 48. This one was, um, a bit of a surprise.

Yes a family friend. AFAIK it didn't take too long or any drugs for her to conceive. Lovely little girl is now two, no other siblings on the way.

Yes, a few friends.

One had her first at 43, her second at 45. No fertility drugs required. She didn't meet Mr Right until she was 40.

Another had her first at 42, her second at 43. Had been trying for years then two came along at once, naturally.

Finally, one of my best friends. Had her first and only when she finally decided she wanted a child, at 44. Conceived very quickly too. All well.

All children happy and healthy and born at full term.

Best of luck, OP.

yes, I conceived naturally (but not intentionally) at 44 and had ds at 45.

Trouble-free pregnancy, natural if rather slow labour, DS now teenage. All fine so far.

I didn't try for another one

I had a friend who conceived her first child naturally at 45 (was 46 when baby was born). She had been married to the same man for 25 years and never used any birth control and it just finally happened.

Not her first but I know someone who conceived a child naturally at 42. It was 20 years since her last pregnancy. Took 6 months to conceive which was a lot quicker than first pregnancy. Happy, healthy child. This was very much a now or never last hurrah though. Went into it knowing that this would be a one year of trying thing and there would be no further pregnancies

Me.

I just spent two months letting my hair down and drinking too much around Christmas 2017 so wasn't careful enough with contraceptives. She was born when I was 43, she is now 3 and jumping up and down on the sofa next to me.

I didn't try and I didn't/don't want more children. (Her father wanted more children until she started speaking at 5 and a half months then agreed with me.)

Incidentally my mother conceived me at the same age but I was the last of her 5 live births. It is common in my extended family for women to have children naturally in their 40s including late 40s.
