Cd3 - short AF & Dark Opk... What does this mean?

Hi all, I'm ttc baby #2 and 2nd Cycle off the pill doing so. Convinced I was pregnant last cycle but AF arrived 3 days ago.
I'm new to using Opks and today I did one to build line progression and it's come back quite dark - is this normal for Cd3?
Advice would be so helpful 🙏

@AmberRH1993 could it have been implantation bleeding instead of af? Maybe try a pregnancy test? X

Definitely try a pregnancy test

@freshflowers2 & @Skl2021 Before AF arrived I had a v.faint line on cheapy test strips.. Pic attached but it was a real squinter so I didn't think anything of it.
Perhaps I will do a test tomorrow just to make sure for certain.

Sounds like an implantation bleed- do a test as I've seen loads of opk's like that when women didn't realise they were pregnant!

Usually I have very dark red and lots of clots but this time was more pinkish to red then today only brown - day 3. AF normally lasts 5 days for me. Doing a 10mIU test so will update..

Definitely not pregnant so perhaps just ovulating earlier this cycle 👍🏼

@AmberRH1993 maybe it was just a random surge? I wouldn't think it would be ovulation that early? I would keep testing with opks to see if you actually ovulate at your normal time. Good luck x

@Skl2021 yes I think so too. I will do opks twice a day from now anyhow so let's see 😊

@AmberRH1993 mine is usually like that too but this cycle (day 2) it appears to be watery and bright red! I am waiting on my opks arriving from Amazon and looking forward to finding out when I actually ovulate because I've obviously been missing it for 11 cycles 🤣🤣🤣

A positive opk is when the line is darker than the control. You can get light reads all through your period. When I used an opk when my period was late it was a very strong test line (I was pregnant). Unfortunately it sounds like this is your period. Fingers crossed for next month.
