Has anyone tried or head reviews about Iva Keene (N.D) the natural doctor from Switzerland? Her NFP program offers reported 83% efficacy in getting pregnant but very expensive..

Sounds like a quack to me who should be ashamed of conning vulnerable people. But since this exact post seems to have be doing the rounds for years now, I expect we can shortly expect some scammers/bots with glowing endorsements…

Natural Fertility Program (Iva Keene) Anyone tried?
sviri · 28/12/2021 23:50

@SweetBabyCheeses99
Oh no, sorry, it is a genuine question. I tried to Google it first and found that text on the screenshot. It's quite embarrassing but I copied it as English is not my first language and I was posting from my phone and was short of time. Also thought how awful if someone would find out it, and it happened 😌. I was interested to know if anyone from mumsnet tried this program

@sviri I’m quite suspicious of anything like this which asks for large sums of money. I doubt there’s anything they can recommend which you can’t find out about much more cheaply from other sources, e.g. diet, exercise, sleep, relaxation, avoiding toxins, getting the timing of ovulation right. I’d have a look first at some of the books which are around like ‘It Starts with the Egg’ and ‘Real Food for Pregnancy.’

sviri · 28/01/2022 15:36

Thank you everyone for the replies, it is really helpful.
Unfortunately it looks like nobody from mumsnet did this program and can share their opinion :(

I signed up just so I could comment on this question. This program I did at age 42-43 after trying to conceive for about 4 yrs with no success. The program worked for me we got pregnant about 9 months later . Healthy pregnancy and baby. I highly recommend Iva and I have no doubt that the program is the only reason we conceived. It is a combination of lifestyle changes along with diet and high quality supplements. The program was way cheaper for us then doing ivf. I’m now 46 and I am currently doing the program again.

sviri · 19/03/2022 21:24

@Dancing2272022
Thank you so much for your reply, I really appreciate it. It is really inspiring, I just joined the program Smile.
Can I ask you please if you followed the detox and the diet to the letter or was a bit flexible with it? I am not sure if it will be possible for me to carry all the food to work every day..
Also if you are in the UK could I please ask you what water filter do you use?
Thank you again and best wishes on your program! Smile

Hi Shanon.
How is the program going for you? I am thinking of doing it too

Happyclappy22 · 20/04/2023 22:58

Hey, I am also thinking of doing the program. @sviri hows the program going ? It’s expensive but sounds like such a good and worthwhile investment into overall health. Wish there was a seperate thread for this program so people can support each other

didyoueatalready · 28/08/2023 02:18

STAY AWAY!!! Total waste of money. She just cares about taking people's money. I went through her program - she did not deliver anything promised. Her assistant coach Kathryn Moloney would contradict a lot of what she said. She just kept pushing all these drugs and some of these contradicted each other and she really didn't know what she was talking about. Its sad she's trying to take advantage of people's hopes and dreams. I have unexplained infertility - she said we would find the root cause but she would just skirt around it and did not provide anything useful. Most of what she provides is available for free on the internet.

didyoueatalready · 28/08/2023 03:31

I participated in Iva's program and wouldn't recommend it. She prescribed Ovasitol to me but I'm someone who should stay away from it becuase I have low testertone levels. According to Norbert Gleicher, MD, FACOG, FACS (linked article below) it could hurt more than help people to take this if you don't have PCOS. Ovasitol isn't a cheap supplement ($80). She's really not a qualified. I'm so disappointed. I had high hopes going into her program but made me feel like she doesn't really care about helping people but seemed to care more about money.

Who is myo-inositol for? And who should stay away from it?: Center for Human Reproduction: Infertility Specialists

Myo-inositol is one of the most widely advertised and used over-the-counter supplements in female infertility.

I’m so sorry to hear about your experience and that you feel you must warn people away from doing Iva’s program.
I am not Iva’s assistant but a qualified naturopath specialising in fertility, and I’ve helped hundreds of women and couples conceive who otherwise may not have been able to.
I’m sorry you weren’t happy with the program. While working together, we identified two potential issues that have not been given attention or picked up before in your fertility history, which may be contributing to your fertility issues, and out of respect and patient confidentiality, I will not share them in the public forum.
Regarding the contradictions mentioned, the program becomes tailored to each person’s individual needs, and as such, some of the suggestions in the program will be adjusted or omitted as they do not apply to this particular case.
As much as we wish to help everyone, sometimes we are not a good fit, and this can be said about any service. From our success stories page on the website, anyone can see that we have immense success with supporting women and couples.
We wish you all the best with your future fertility endeavours and hope our work together will benefit you.

fertilityhelp · 31/08/2023 09:38

@didyoueatalready Ovasitol was not prescribed to you, and we do not make any money by prescribing it. I can assure you that we wouldn’t be in the natural health industry if we were all about making money and I'm sorry you somehow got this impression.

sviri · 31/08/2023 19:42

@didyoueatalready
I have participated in this program too and Ovasitol was also prescribed to me. My testosterone was very low due to age I think, no PCOS, so now I am very concerned, thank you for the information about it!
I still have half of the jar full (I am on the second one and it is true it is very expemsive), probably better I through it away instead 🙄

Oh dear, this sounds very confusing now I’m very unsure what to think. I have been planning, lurking and saving since last year towards starting the program for Jan 2024 this is now thrown a spanner in the works! How long were you on the program @sviri @didyoueatalready can you tell me some positives ( being completely honest) of being part of the program? Can you give any advise of any great naturopath doctors in the UK that won’t just force IVF, IUIin your face ? Please respond. Thanks x

Sherel · 15/10/2023 01:03

Thank you so much, I thought the same when I contacted them and the lady who replied seemed to not know what she is talking about

mart291 · 18/10/2023 12:31

Hi there, I signed up to this thread just so I could post a genuine review of the NFP programme created by Iva Keene. It came up on Google as I searched for the name of the coach who worked with us: Kathryn Moloney. I cannot praise this programme enough, it's absolutely ground-breaking but you have to be prepared for a complete change of lifestyle if you want to succeed. It's a very complex coaching programme that looks at all areas of your health: physical and mental so that you get the best chances of conceiving a healthy baby naturally. About me: I had a baby at the age of 32 and then after 5 years decided to have another one. After 3.5 years of trying we decided to try IVF (at the age of 40). Just to mention my husband and I did not have any health problems, we are quite healthy in general - we had unexplained infertility. 6 months after failed IVF I found this programme, signed up in Nov and in Dec we were pregnant (!). It was an absolute miracle, but apparently quite a lot of couples get pregnant really quickly on this programme - no guarantees though and they don't promise to you anything (but IVF clinics don't promise you anything either!) As I said, it does require a huge commitment from both partners, but it's way way cheaper than IVF. We spent £7000 on one round of IVF and the NFP coaching programme cost us around £2000. I just wished I'd known about it sooner, it would have saved us a lot of heartache and physical impacts of IVF on my body. I cannot recommend NFP more, and I do not work for them nor do I get paid for my review. I am just an extremely grateful mum of a lovely and healthy baby girl born in 2021 and she wouldn't be here if it wasn't for this programme. Iva Keene has a vast amount of knowledge about fertility and she could educate our fertility doctors here in the UK who do very very little for couples trying to conceive. All what they do is say you are too old (in my case at the age of 37!) and send you for IVF :( You can actually do so much to improve your health and conceive naturally.

sviri · 18/10/2023 15:51

I would say there are lots of hidden cost in NFP - it will be way more than £2000 at the end and comparable with IVF - very expensive tests and supplements. Also Iva insisted on ordering supplements from Australia - with shipping costs and custom fees only supplements where around £2000 or more at the end for the first months. People who are reading this thread and especially mart291 comments just have to be aware of all these costs.

mart291 · 02/11/2023 14:56

I agree with you sviri. Yes, there is a lot you'd have to invest first (supplements, water filters, organic food etc), but I thought at the time that I'm investing in my overall health, as I had never taken such good quality supplements before. I did not do all the expensive tests, only the basic ones that could be done via a GP. I still fully believe that it's absolutely worth it, as with IVF for my age at the time (40) we were given only 15% chance per cycle so it was a real lottery (we couldn't afford the 3 cycle package worth £17,000). I realised that investing in my own and my husband's health would give us better chances. I understand that for some people IVF is the only option, but in most cases changing lifestyle, nutrition and many other aspects of life makes all the difference and that's what this programme is all about. I wouldn't have made these changes if I only read a book, having a coach who is guiding you for 3 months really gives you that drive for change. I am sure it wouldn't work for everyone as it really requires huge commitment from both partners. Infertility sucks and my heart goes out to everyone who has to go through this difficult journey xx

Happyclappy22 · 20/02/2024 04:21

Thank you so much for this thread! Literally been in two minds for about ( I kid you not) 2 years regarding this program. Thank you @mart291 for weighing in on this topic with your experience as I don’t think you know how much it’s helped to get your prespective. I really am going to consider this program i ended up giving up on reviews for it because I got literally no feed back, but now you have reminded me to try again !

Haorbw · 21/02/2024 02:21

I didn’t really find it helpful at all - to me it felt like a bit of a scam and total waste of money. It’s a lot of money and didn’t help. It’s a lot of very obvious material and a lot of cooking and food many which are unproven. Feel like they recommend a lot of unnecessary supplements to make you feel like you’re doing something. Personally I Totally don’t recommend.

Happyclappy22 · 25/02/2024 08:58

Oh wow. I’m so torn on one one hand I’ve heard such good things then I hear things like @Haorbw I guess it’s like lots of things in life. Everything works differently for each person l. Do you mind me asking for your story like how long have you been trying ? Which package you did (Gold, Diamond or Platinum) and genuine positives you got from the program. What was least helpful ?

watertheplants · 02/09/2024 17:58

has anything new been added to this thread? I am considering the program too. But we did a lot already, live clean and eat pregnant friendly etc... did all the tests and still no root cause. Will there be a root cause identified? this is what we were hoping for. This unexplained infertility is killing us. Does this program really help you with that? Thanks to all you brave women going down this road and helping out others on the way!
