ttc #2 / family wedding

Hi all,

We are planning to start trying for our second child in the new year. With our first child we were lucky enough to get pregnant from the first time but don’t know what is going to happen this time of course. My brother just announced his engagement and their wedding is planned to be a November wedding next year. There is quite some friction between me and his fiancée and I worry that if I get pregnant early in the new year and have a newborn at the wedding or if I’ll be heavily pregnant at the wedding that she’ll be fuming. She wants to be the centre of attention and every conversation at Christmas was about their wedding - understandably as they are so excited about it.

Would anyone defer their plans to expand their family by a few months to try and not intervene with a family wedding?

Thanks 😊

No. Its unlikely for either of those things to be the case as it's very normal for it to take up to a year to concieve. You might fall first time this time too but who knows. You'll work it out if you d

No, there's never a "perfect time" to get pregnant. Live your life. I had a lot of life events coming up and you just have to go for it.

Completely unreasonable on her part. Don't put off trying because she is mental!

No, not worth putting it off if it works for you.

Would she consider doing the same if she was in your situation? I say, go for it!

No don't change your TTC plans! You have no idea how long it will take to get the BFP and if your future SIL likes to be centre of attention I'm sure there will always be something else that takes the spotlight off her (in her eyes) to complain about.

I've also never been to a wedding where a newborn or pregnant family member detracts from the bride and groom. If you announced a pregnancy at their wedding that would obviously be a different story.

Good luck with TTC x

We put off ttc for 2 years due to family's big plans/ holidays etc and now years on I wish I'd have started ttc as soon as DH suggested as struggling to conceive.

My advice will
Always be to start trying and don't wait.
