Hello, just wanted to know everyone's thoughts I had a crazy few weeks, I unfortunately had a miscarriage in November and decided we was going to leave things for this month but on the off chance I used my opks ended up catching my peak even tho it was actually a lot later than I was expecting it. As we were going to leave it thus month after my peak I actually have been that busy I've not thought about it, I'm only about 3/4 dpo but I've been drinking over Christmas obviously more than usual and now I'm feeling really guilty 😩 what's everyone's thoughts?
Thank you

I actually read something about this earlier, think it was on the Flo app where the community ask questions. Someone had said they'd had a drink and that they were just going to enjoy Xmas because it could take a week or more to implant anyway? So you could look at it like that I suppose. I wouldn't be too worried about it but I'm sure others would disagree and not drink at all

CRA994 · 26/12/2021 20:42

@Dreamer30 thanks for the reply I've seen a lot of people saying they wouldn't worry and just to enjoy it but I can't help but think about it now, I don't plan on having anything else untill after I've tested but I have absolutely had more than normal over the last few days. Do you know if drinking affects the likelyhood of implantation? I know I'm only 3dpo 🙈

I'm not sure I'm afraid, try not to beat yourself up about it though.
A lot of women have a drink before they find out they're even pregnant if they've not been tracking their cycle or trying etc. I'm sure you'll be fine :)

lemonsquid · 26/12/2021 22:09

I really wouldn't worry about it honestly! Like pp said many people drink without ever realising they're pregnant, some for weeks or months even and baby is fine. Obviously wouldn't do it knowingly but at this early stage before even implanted I think absolutely fine. I'm not a big drinker so I never personally did but I would have if I wanted to!!

Bringonsummer19 · 26/12/2021 22:16

You’ll be fine, plenty of people do and the umbilical cord doesn’t develop till hmm is it 10 weeks? That’s the point when baby will 100% consume what you do

I’ve never known anyone in real life who stops drinking while ttc. Drink til it’s pink is a thing, I’d never cut out alcohol til I got a strong positive test.

Newgirl21 · 29/12/2021 09:09

I was worrying about the same thing 🙈 after suffering a mmc earlier in the year I’m trying to be cautious. It’s too early to have a clear result on a test, already tested negative 2 days ago and planning on drinking this week- To celebrate the end of what has been a challenging year!

I agree entirely with this!💖 sorry for your loss @CRA994Flowers

Ok still early but I checked, I can see the faintest line. Anyone else?

Drinking??
Sassy144 · 01/01/2022 10:33

@Newgirl21 I see a faint line, how exciting!

Newgirl21 · 01/01/2022 13:22

Thanks @Sassy144, I’m glad I’m not crazy!
I’ve avoided drinking last night and now telling people I’m doing ‘dry January’ - at least until I get a clearer result. 🤞🏻

CRA994 · 01/01/2022 13:26

@Newgirl21 I defo see a faint line, how many dpo are you? I had a drink last night but not much just Incase. I'm going to test tomorrow I think at 10dpo x

Newgirl21 · 01/01/2022 13:44

I think 15.
I tried not to drive myself crazy this month and haven’t really been tracking just went with my body and what I thought was ovulation cramps. I’ve been trying to take the pressure off.
Ahhh best of luck @CRA994, my fingers are tightly crossed for you 🤞🏻☺️

CRA994 · 01/01/2022 14:31

@Newgirl21 aw we'll keep me updated. I really want to wait till I miss my period but I know I can't. Fingers crossed for you too! X

@Newgirl21 how's things did you take another test?
I've taken one I think I've been stung with an evap line as I can see something but not convinced, this pic was about 20 mins after I took the test, only symptom is sore boobs but could be af still only 10dpo but I'm not getting a good feeling xx

I wouldn't worry about the drinking and whether it affects implantation honestly. The science around it is so varied and honestly the internet sends you down a dark rabbit hole if you look too much into it.

If it helps at all, I ovulated on the 20/21st of December...drank all the wine, Baileys and Prosecco I wanted as it was Christmas and was having a month off from trying (been trying the 3 months before that with no luck).
But then thought I'd do a test on NYE just in case at 10/11 DPO and got a BFP 😳
Obviously stopped drinking since then but I certainly wouldn't stress yourself with feeling guilty about Christmas drinks at such an early stage ☺️
