Booster mucked up period?

I expect so but I'm going to ask anyway ..

TTC #3. Had booster Tuesday morning. Due af today but it started Thursday lunchtime. Was light/medium first day, heavier second day, and light/present when wiping yesterday. This morning it's gone 🤔 I've never had such a short period. I assume it's the booster and I cant be preg right? The second day was heavier, as in it pooled at the bottom of the loo during a wee kind of heavy (sorry for tmi).

Mine seems to have messed with my period each dose I've had.

I don't think we will ever get an official acknowledgement that the two are linked though.

kerkyra · 26/12/2021 14:27

I had my booster ten days ago and started bleeding mid cycle the day after. Am still bleeding. I'm sick of it and now have covid symptoms! Feeling lethargic with swollen glands and a sore throat, which I could have picked up from the panto on Christmas eve.

Clarabellawilliamson · 26/12/2021 14:35

I read an interesting article a while ago, but I have no idea how to find it again. Apparently it's very common for ANY vaccination to affect your cycle, not just covid ones. They know about it but aren't worried. There's no evidence (on a massive scale) that this has an impact on fertility, but I suppose there will be individual differences. Probably not many people who have this as a research focus though- because it only affects women!!

Clarabellawilliamson · 26/12/2021 14:39

It wasn't this article- but it backs up what I was saying

I had my booster the day after AF started and it made it significantly heavier and more painful than normal. The cramps felt like mild contractions!

Lovetoridemybicycle · 26/12/2021 15:49

Every one of them has messed me up. AZ bought it on two days after (1 to 2 weeks early) both times and Pfizer booster delayed it by a week and was astonishingly light & short.
It'll go back to normal soon enough (well probably any way.. I'm 48)

DeviousImp17 · 26/12/2021 16:05

My booster delayed AF by a week, I had it two days before I should ovulate and it clearly delayed ovulation. We weren't trying that month as it was so busy. This is my second cycle post booster and it's now a 27 day cycle instead of a 35. So I think it's going back to normal. I do wonder if it's why I'm having the bleeding between cycles. It's either that or the fibroids. My AF after the jab was lighter but I started taking Conceive Plus with the ginger, so it would have made my period lighter.

That Guardian journalist's references to "people who menstruate" has almost sent me over the edge.

I've had a light period for 3 weeks now after my booster in early November... debating whether its time to get it investigated as it shows no sign of stopping 🤔

EishetChayil · 26/12/2021 18:38

My period is currently 4 days late after my booster last Sunday.

melissasummerfield · 26/12/2021 18:42

2nd vaccine completely disrupted my cycle which has been consistent for 20 years ! Its really making me reluctant to get the booster tbh.

EishetChayil · 26/12/2021 18:44

@HollowTalk

That Guardian journalist's references to "people who menstruate" has almost sent me over the edge.

I know - it's infuriating. Talk about reducing us to bodily functions. I'm not a "person who menstruates" any more than I'm a "person who urinates" or a "person who bleeds when cut". I'm a woman, who happens to menstruate, urinate, and pontificate

Theseptemberissues · 26/12/2021 20:32

I had no issues with the AZ earlier in the year but had the Pfizer booster end of nov. Period was a few days late and much lighter but lasted longer.

msc6199 · 26/12/2021 21:08

My periods have never been the same since having my covid jabs. I had my booster last week, AF has arrived but my goodness it is so much heavier and more painful!!!

Daisydoor12 · 27/12/2021 09:41

Omg I could have written the same post.
Pfizer booster Tuesday am. AF due Thursday, arrived afternoon/evening very light, fri (day 2 expecting the gush in the morning didn’t happen) proper red blood on wiping and pooling in toilet when weeing, Saturday medium to light tailing off by the afternoon/evening. Then yesterday and today (so far) nothing. Also no AF cramps.
I had AZ for first 2 doses and by coincidence had vaccine ish couple days before AF due. First AZ AF was mega heavy and lasted 8days, 2nd AZ normal AF.

faithfulbird20 · 27/12/2021 13:19

I had a really heavy period day after booster. I wonder what it would do to an early pregnancy.

Chanel05 · 27/12/2021 16:47

Yes, likely.

My second vaccine made my cycle 5 days late and the next one 9 days early 🙈

EishetChayil · 27/12/2021 17:44

I wish I hadn't been vaccinated now. If this means I can't get pregnant again I will be fucking furious. I don't want to come over all tinfoil-hatty but WTF.
