Confused by positive test

So I was a day late for my period and tested.. the test line came up before the control line and was darker than the Control line anyone know any reasons for this? When I was a week late with my first the line was still very faint then...

Isn't that what the refer to a a dye stealer? Such a strong positive that it takes the most dye and leaves less for the control line or something like that

Could it be that you ovulate early in your cycle? Everyone has different hormone levels and hcg levels vary hugely. I'm 14 dpo so when most women would be due on and got a 2-3 weeks on clue blue today so I imagine that would be a pretty strong positive on a dye test.
