Ovulation test advice please? :(

Hey, completely new to this site! Just wanted some advice please.

I’ve had 4 days of flashing smileys on the clear blue advanced tests, I did a second test last night and finally got my static smiley! But, the cheapie tests I’ve been doing every day too have only been showing a faint line? Even now I’ve had my static smiley, the LH line is still so faint on the cheapie that it’s barely even visible? I have EWCM, sore boobs, what I think is ovulation pain etc., - so no idea why the cheapie tests aren’t showing anything even close to a positive line?! 😭 I’ve been doing them in the afternoon/evenings, making sure I’m not drinking too much before etc., there has been a line on there since I’ve been doing them but it hasn’t got any darker at all. Just wondering how accurate the static smiley is now? My periods are quite regular every month although long, I have around a 34 day cycle. Anyone had a similar thing happen or can give me any advice? Do you think I’m ovulating? Thank you

I’m no expert on this as it’s only cycle 1 of ttc for me and I’m also using the CB OPKs. I haven’t got my static yet still on flashing smileys and haven’t been using any line tests.

I do think though it sounds like all your symptoms are pointing to your fertile window. EWCM, sore boobs etc. All sounds like it’s confirming the static smiley. I would make sure to dtd now over the next couple of days to cover yourself. I’ve also read about taking BBT which maybe you could do after to confirm if ov happened (I haven’t done this yet myself but something to look into).

Cycle 1 of TTC for me too and it’s all so confusing isn’t it?! 😂 definitely going to order a BBT thermometer today - I hope you get your static smiley soon! 🤞 - I did a second CB test yesterday evening as I noticed more EGCM and had my static smiley then! Yes so confusing lol! I started testing too early so I feel like I’ve had never ending flashing smileys. I’m CD12 today so hoping in the next couple of days I’ll get my static

I would trust the CB this time as all the signs point towards ovulation.

It could be your LH surges are short and you're missing them with cheapies - best time to test with them are second wee of the day/ around 11am or so. Something to bear in mind for future cycles if needed :)

Are they cheap crappy OPKs? Not trying to be rude but I used the One Step ones off Ebay and really struggled with getting a decent line but once I moved to the better Easy@Home ones off Amazon, it was easy to see a positive and correlated with my ClearBlue Digital ones I was using alongside them
