Booster and first trimester?

Just read boosters are now available for over 30s. I am pro vaccine and but wondering what peoples opinions are during the first trimester? What’s the current guidance from midwives?

Hoping for a positive but it would be a week before I’ve booked my booster

Current advice is pregnant women and women trying to conceive to get the booster.

I’m TTC and have my booster booked for when I’ll either be four weeks pregnant or starting a new cycle.

As PP said advice is anytime now for pregnant women, or women TTC, I had my booster at 11 weeks but only put it off as I had my flu jab booked for the week before

If it also reassures you I got pregnant (as in conceived) the same weekend as my second jab too

My midwife suggested the booster for me at my booking in appointment, so I had it that day. Nearly 10 weeks.

The Royal College of Midwives are advising pregnant mothers to get vaccinated. They have a Q&A here www.rcm.org.uk/coronavirus-hub/covid-vaccines-for-pregnant-women/

Well it turns out I will be in the first trimester when I get my booster this week. Grin

I just wanted to pop on and say thank you all for getting vaccinated. It is making such a huge difference to pregnant women who catch Covid.

I speak to dozens of pregnant women each day who have caught Covid and I can almost always tell the vaccinated from the unvaccinated from how ill they sound just on the phone.

Congrats on your pregnancies ladies xx

I had my booster in my third trimester (35 +4), I had it as soon as I could book in because I felt with all the hospital appointments and and the imminent stay to have the baby, I wanted as much protection as possible. I also work in a health related field, so a high risk environment and I wasn't planning to start my mat leave until 37 weeks. As it turned out, I went into labour 3 days later, so not sure how much extra protection I had going in.
