i had a mirena. took 6 moths to the day before i got bfp.

just feels like a big pop when it comes out, no blood or pain.

ycles were a bit all over the place for a few months but as soon as it got back to normal i conceived. am now 23 weeks pg with db3.

if you want to satrt ttc in july, take it out in say april and use condoms until then, give your body a chance to return to normal.

Hi, i had my copper coil(non chem) out on the 5th nov...it was totally painless for me but i was a wreck going to get it out and had not realised when she done it!!

I had a very light period (2days) at the end of nov...

We have been ttc since i got the coil out and last week i got a BFP then this week i had a left over test and i got a negative (well 3 actually)!!

i spoke to nurse last night she says that i prob had a chemical pg..... But i'm still having morning sickness and haven't had a heavy bleed so i have to wait untill my af is due this week to see if it's heavy..... she has said that i may have lost the pg and if i don't bleed then i have to get blood work done as i may still be pg!!

It's all very confusing but i will let you know how i get on ....

Nurse has said that it is common to lose the pg after coil removal because the uterus has been thick and it would have been best to have a few "af's" for the lining to get back to normal!! Oh well to late for me think i found out the hard way

Good luck hunxx

Even though im going through this sh** i'm still excited at the prospect of a new baby eventually!! xx

I had a copper coil like you. First cycle after I had it removed was 35 days (I am normally between 23 and 29) so that was a real nuisance. After asking on here, it seems that is not that uncommon.

It was uncomfortable rather than painful having it taken out. My GP surgery advised going for removal during your period as there is likely to be some spotting and this will make it easier to deal with as you'll already be prepared.

Holly sorry to hear about what you are going through - maybe if not good news you should try temping. If your temp is still up 18 days post ov then you KNOW you are pregnant. None of this spending loads of money on early pg tests and constant worrying.

Wannabamummy · 18/12/2007 13:49

im sure it'l all go smoothly eventually holly, i know what you mean about exciting! it seems like everyone i've ever known is already pg!! In a way im looking forward to my hol being over so i can concentrate on baby!! This patience malarky isnt easy eh?

petitfilou after your long cycle have you now fallen? its a shame i have the coil but everything hormonal ( pill etc) makes me a loony!! xx

On my second cycle, but don't think so no. I am 35 and this would be no3 so may not be quite so easy this time (was 31 and 32 other times)

It isn't a shame you have the coil. If you were taking hormones it might take your body a while to adjust back. With the copper coil you still ovulate so your fertility is never affected - it just prevents implantation of a fertilised egg. Good luck - I bet you don't hold off until May if you are already on here!
