Hello,

I just want to share my story see if anyone has any similar stories☺️

In June this year (2021) I took a pregnancy test as I was 2 days late on my period in which was positive! I wasn't actually trying to get pregnant I'd just came off contraception a month or two before but I thought it would take a while for the hormones to come out my system. Anyway after a day of feeling every emotion possible the next day I started to bleed. I immediately called 111 and said it didn't seem like spotting as it was quite heavy like I'd just came on my period. They said to me heavy bleeding can be normal sometimes it's just really rare and it it doesn't go in a few days to call back up. So a few days past and I was still bleeding it did get lighter but I also started to get a pain in the left lower side of my abdomen so I called back up 111 and said i know something is wrong I want to be checked out. So they told me to come in for some blood tests in which I was told if your HCG levels double every 48 hours it's a sign of a healthy pregnancy so for a full week and half I had to go every 2 days to have my bloods taken and they was doubling until the last bloods they said it had not doubled and something must be wrong. They then booked me in for a scan the next day. I had the scan and she told me there is definitely nothing in my womb. It was then up to myself if I wanted to have a medication called methotrexate as they didn't know where it was growing and if it grew anymore it could be life threatening to me. I agreed to have the methotrexate and continued to bleed for a week after. I was told to wait for 2 more periods after the bleeding stopped to try again for a baby. Fast forward 5 month I found out yesterday I was pregnant with my rainbow baby! I have found out so early I'm 3 weeks and 5 days and my emotions are all over the place I rang the hospital see if I could get an early scan at 6 weeks and they told me no I have to wait till 12 weeks as apparently it's unlikely I'll have another ectopic and they'd only scan me if something was wrong. So I have booked a private scan for 6 weeks I'll pay the £70 just to put my mind at ease! I'd love to hear anyones story about having a successful pregnancy after an ectopic. I'm just so scared and time is going sooooo slow☹️🙏🍼👶
