BFP on expired internet cheapie?!

So we’ve not been trying/ not been preventing for a while now and I’m currently on CD39 (average cycle is usually 35 days). Took a IC test on CD37 which was BFN.
Realised I’d run out of tests but came across one IC that expired in 09/21…. BFP 😳. Has anyone else had experience of a BFP on an expired test? Could it be a false positive?

Looks positive but I wouldn't trust it until I'd tested with an in date test. Good luck

Thanks for replying, I’m sceptical with it being expired but I’ve ordered some first response which should arrive tomorrow. We shall see! 😬

I would assume they expire due to moisture (there’s a gel pack in each one) so it doesn’t stop the test from working but maybe the longer it’s left the more chance of lines showing even before testing.

If it wasn’t there before you tested I would bet on a positive, good luck for tomorrow morning

That’s a good point about moisture, it had been stored in the bathroom. I will keep you updated after I test again tomorrow!

So I did a FRER test and bfp… although now I’m worried it’s too faint to say my period was due a few days ago. I had what I believe to be implantation spotting yesterday and nothing since.
