Mood swings

Can mood swings be a sign or pregnancy or just period? I always get really grumpy before period and I'm due on next Thursday and feeling grumpy this morning :(

I had no mood swings at all in my pregnancy (I'm 8 weeks pregnant) I had much stronger mood swings with AF although symptoms of both are very similar.
