does breastfeeding affect hpt?

read elsewhere on mumsnet that if you are still breastfeeding this can affect pregnancy test result, that breastfeeding hormones can make hcg difficult to detect. is this true?

would be surprised if this was the case. The tests check preg hormones that are produced by the placenta.
