I had a positive opk yesterday morning and afternoon but this mornings is even darker. Do I class today or yesterday as peak day?

Are you using the digital smiley face tests or the internet cheapies (like OneStep) with the lines? If the latter, was yesterday's definitely positive, as in the test line definitely as dark, or darker than the control?

I think it's fairly unusual to have a surge that lasts that long, but if you had, I'd always go with the start of the surge as I think it's the start of the surge that kicks off ovulation.

Easy@home. They've been pretty dark for a few days but yesterdays and today's both positive.

Yesterday 08:43 does look positive, just, so I'd go with that being the start of the surge.

The start of the surge is the key point because it's as lots of that hormone releases that things kick off.

I used to mostly use this sort of test but keep some of the expensive digital tests as a back up as they require no judgement so each cycle when I thought the cheap test looked positive I'd do a digital test and if that was positive I'd go with that and stop testing for that cycle.

Thanks for your help. It isn't easy to see on the picture but it was definitely positive. I imagine ovulation will be today/tomorrow then :)

I eventually realised I could feel it kind of 'pop' almost exactly 24h after the surge and used this timing for fertility treatment.

Good luck!

I've read that ovulation occurs 12 to 36 hours after the surge but 8 to 16 hours after the peak.
I'd count all positives as the LH surge but the most positive test as the LH peak.
I'm very jealous of your dark lines, mine never get that dark!

As long as they get dark enough to be positive I don't think it matters! My positive tests were always only just convincingly dark enough but it was sufficient.

@INeedNewShoes I tend to get a lot of random twinges lol I have pcos so maybe that's why. Hopefully ovulation is today. We dtd yesterday and the day before so it's good timing if it is.

@ExPatHereForAChat thank you for your help. Hopefully that means ovulation is today :) I don't think the line darkness really matters. The easy@home ones seem to give a good dark line though.
