I have decided to buy a persona monitor, I bought it off ebay and it has been used only once.

The thing is ........it will arrive in the next few days.....but I have af here which started yesterday (sunday). I know that you have to press a button for af arrival to start the programme off for the month.....do I have to press this button on the day of af or can I press it when the monitor arrives???

Hi Jeddah - sorry to tell you this but I've checked in my user guide and I think you'll have to wait until next AF to start using it. You have to set it either on the morning AF starts or the morning after if it starts in the afternoon / evening.

But congrats on the purchase. I think persona is fab - really easy to use. I'm waiting for my AF to arrive so I can start using mine again!

Hello
I thought you could just hold the 'm' button in a bit longer so it displays the correct day of your cycle (ie, 'm2' or 'm3')? Hang on, I've just checked the persona site and found the following...

What should I do if I forget to set the 'm' Button on Day 1?

You can still set your Monitor on days 2, 3 4 or 5. Don't forget - the TIME when you press the ?m? Button determines your Testing Window for the rest of that cycle, during which you must do all tests requested, using your first urine of the day. So make sure that your Testing Window is convenient for weekdays and weekend. At your chosen ?m? pressing time, hold the ?m? Button down and release it when the correct day number is shown on the Display Screen. If you are not able to set the ?m? Button during the first 5 days of your cycle, your Monitor will not have enough information to advise you on your contraception. You should wait until your next period before setting the ?m? Button. For the remainder of that cycle you should abstain from intercourse. If you choose to use a barrier contraceptive (e.g. a condom), reliability will be subject to your chosen method. If in doubt ring the PERSONA Line.

Hope that helps!

I can confirm that you can program it up to CD5. As RudyDudy indiates, the day determined as CD1 also varies depending on the timing of your AF - i.e., for a time set at 7am, if your AF started Sunday evening, then CD1 would be Monday morning, which gives you until Friday to set your Persona. BTW you need to use a Persona stick to reset the unit and two packs worth for the first month (the booklet says with the same batch number), so I suggest getting them in ready, if you haven't already. Best of luck.

I will purchase 16 new test sticks for this month so batch num will be the same.

Just waiting for the monitor to arrive!

You may be interested to know that if you buy the sticks from blushingbuyer.com they are about half the price of those at Boots.
