Hey all ! My partner and i have made the decision to try for a baby ! I have PCOS and periods are very irregular but for the past few months i have been getting them ! The doctor has suggested ovulation tracking but have read that PCOS can give unreliable results ! Im trying to stay chilled about it all and just see how it goes ! Ive been taking Seven seas trying for a baby tablets for the past 2 months - do you think this could have helped in the period situation? 🤔
My period finished on monday so when should i start looking at testing with my ovulation tests?

@Butterscotchbaby
The opks r really no good when you have pcos as you can hit a peak a few times before it actually happens, can you try temping that is more reliable.

@Butterscotchbaby which doctor told you about OPKs? I agree with @Babyghirl that in my experience, they were pretty rubbish. GPs are often not very clued up on PCOS so i generally go by whatever my endocrinologist says, rather than the GP.

What i would say is depending on your age, don't wait too long if it doesn't happen before seeking help. I had been seeing the hospital consultant when we started TTC so he was able to refer me to the assisted conception unit straight away - even then, it was still a 6month wait (obs we were trying naturally in all that time). I conceived on my third cycle of metformin + letrozole in the end. Good luck!

Thanks for replying ! My gp really dosent seem clued up on PCOS - she did refer me for an ultrasound but the hospital rejected it as they said if ive been diagnosed then there's no point as it can fluctuate depending on weight etc 🙄 i might just try doing the deed every other day and seeing how that goes xx

@Butterscotchbaby
Thats your best method to go for if you, if you don't mind me asking what age r you.

How is it going @Butterscotchbaby ? I just found your thread, I have PCOS too, I'm 40 and i will be having ivf. Welcome to the TTC club! I don't know what is included exactly on the vitamins you're getting but I have saved an Instagram post that says which ones are important for ttc - i can find it and post it here later.

Try to be as chill as possible, take your vitamins, eat as healthily as possible and take it a step at a time.
