Missed ovulation week due to long cycle?

I was really desperate to get pregnant last month but my cycles have been increasing for the past 2 months. First one was 36 days and 2nd was 41 days! How do I make sure I don't miss it this time? Is it better to have sex every other day?

Thank you.I'll have to use them this whole month hopefully. I used them for 2 weeks and the 3rd week I gave up because I thought I ovulated based on heavy cervical mucus (egg white fertile) but no luck.
