There seems to be so many people who become pregnant in the first 3 months of trying.... or it takes much longer. Intrigued by actual statistics from you ladies on here.

How many cycles did it take you?

(I am trying for baby number 1 and moving into the 8th cycle of TTC)

Not sure if this is a good thread for me, it makes me worry even more that something is wrong. On month 10 of TTC and came off the pill in 2019 so that's definitely out of my system. It's so hard and all consuming 😭

Trinacham · 01/12/2021 06:43

First month.. was not expecting it to happen first try! I was using ovulation detectors which told us when best to DTD.

FlyOnTheWall89 · 01/12/2021 08:13

@BritInNZ Hi! Its me from the other thread - I agree, it is a bit scary BUT what it also shows is that is DOES happen eventually, and there seems to be very little correlation between pregnancies... some people take 14 months and then conceive on the first try second time :-) xx

@FlyOnTheWall89 I think I tend to focus on the overwhelming amount of people that it happens quite quickly for. I'm also more sensitive as I'm about to reach the one year mark which is super scary! But yes, hope is good... unfortunately I don't tend to feel much of that though!

FlyOnTheWall89 · 01/12/2021 08:48

@BritInNZ I know and it sucks and you're right... if you've read the whole thread you'll see it is an overwhelming large percentage of first time tries. I am just behind you and I completely emphasise with your lack of hope - I am the same. But, you have got to believe in timing and that the stats on your having a baby are very high, naturally or not. It is just a crazy long wait when you decided a whole year ago you wanted a baby. Try to keep your chin up, hugs x

I was pregnant within a month both times. Very fortunate, but also young, still in my 20s.

  1. I got pregnant 10 days after I stopped preventing.
Candycotton · 01/12/2021 10:02

4 pregnancies.

1st I missed 2 pills and fell. pregnancy didn't continue though. I was 17.

2nd took 10 months after stopping pill but sadly ended in miscarriage. I was 23.

3rd was 3 months after the loss at 24.

4th I fell pregnant whilst breastfeeding and had no idea until about 2 months in. I was 26.

no rhyme or reason to it.

I’m 27 for reference and DH is 32 with a child from a previous relationship 😩 it’s tough!!!!

TTC #1: first cycle, chemical. Took eight cycles to get a sticky bean BUT our timing was way off for lots of those as DP was working away, so probably four actual cycles.

TTC #2: first cycle, chemical. On our third cycle now, but once again 2nd/3rd cycle don’t really count due to timing Hmm

Cheered myself by adding up how many cycles actually counted total and realised I’ve got pregnant 3 out of 9, which isn’t bad odds. Now I just need to pin DP down to the right time!

TheBirdintheCave · 26/01/2022 09:03

DS1: 15 cycles (We found out my husband has low sperm motility and were a day away from our first IVF round. I was 33.)

TTC2: 2 cycles and counting so far. It's not looking good though, I was praying we'd get lucky and it would happen first time after all the bother we had conceiving our son. We may end up paying for private IVF in the summer if nothing happens by then. I'm 35 now :(

....

Worth pointing out that each of those cycles included pinpointing ovulation and us taking all kinds of vitamins etc. I was very regimented about it from the beginning haha.

DS: three years of trying and a round of ivf.

I'm currently pregnant (only 6 weeks!) after the first month of trying for a sibling. Can't believe it. We thought we would try naturally for 6 months then book the ivf clinic. Feeling extremely lucky and hope this little bean sticks.

Mommabear20 · 29/01/2022 14:40

1 and 2

Hoping43 · 01/02/2022 10:54

First month first baby

Eighth month second baby

Moving onto cycle 11 for third baby and feeling scared

Youkilledmyfatherpreparetodie · 01/02/2022 10:58

About 50 before having my amazing daughter. 2 x IVF cycles, first resulting in a MMC. I would do it all again 100 times.

Moonshine160 · 01/02/2022 16:02

DC1 - 1 cycle
Currently pregnant with DC2 - 4 cycles

FleasAndKeef · 01/02/2022 19:49

#1 one cycle
#2 one cycle (but ended in MMC)

Now on cycle 5 (after periods went back to normal after the MMC).

InnPain · 02/02/2022 09:35

In my 20s I conceived quicker than in my 30s. That’s just an observation. I conceived in the first cycle for both of my children in my 20s.

Moving to 30s I conceived 12th cycle after 3 early losses.

MangoLipstick · 02/02/2022 09:40

2 cycles with dc 1
5 cycles with dc 2 but sadly ended in a mmc in Jan.

nokidshere · 02/02/2022 09:47

205 so 17yrs.

I was 22 when I started ttc and 39 when I had my first pregnancy, 41 when I had the second.

InnPain · 02/02/2022 10:18

@nokidshere I admire your patience x
