@girafferafferaffe fingers crossed for the next month :) and I felt the same - disappointed but I can enjoy all the outings planned over Christmas and have a drink.

RockingGazelle · 28/11/2021 21:07

Hi all. We missed FW as DH got man flu and was feeling very sorry for himself. Very annoying as we had agreed to have a really good go this month....oh well, I suppose it means I can drink at Xmas. Hope you're all doing better than I am!

Not sure if @xxfxx has joined the new thread but was wondering how you got on - did AF show or did you get a BFP?

girafferafferaffe · 28/11/2021 21:17

I have a meal/drinks planned with my sil's which would have been awkward if I had to find an excuse not to drink! I am not a drinker at home but do enjoy a drink when out and since I have a 4yo it is basically never that I go out haha. In a way I am glad it's worked out this way.

girafferafferaffe · 28/11/2021 21:18

You can't use antibiotics as an excuse anymore!

xxfxx · 28/11/2021 21:35

Hey @RockingGazelle, AF arrived 10 days late, really weird.

Trying to take a step back really and just chill this cycle. I found when I stopped worrying/ testing was actually when I came on so maybe caused be stress.

Goodgoodthings · 29/11/2021 11:55

Happy Monday everyone, hope you didn't have too much trouble with the weather. I'm thinking I must be out this month - I'm on CD26 and still no positive OPK so I'm guessing I'll have a long cycle and not ovulate 🤦‍♀️ going to stop testing every day because it's boring to be getting nowhere, and just try to focus on enjoying Christmas creeping up and see what happens in the new year.

Hope you're all having better luck than me!

Tjsmjs · 29/11/2021 13:19

Sorry for those who got AF or a negative test. @xxfxx I found similar when I had my first. Period was ultra late- kept testing and nothing. Stopped testing and she came. The following month I tracked ovulation but then stopped tracking as soon as I got my positive OPK. Anyway I was a week late before a realised and I was pregnant with my son. Good luck.

@Goodgoodthings sorry that you didn’t get a positive OPK. I have such a short surge that I’ve missed it before. I’ve ended up testing twice a day now. Hopefully you did ovulate and just missed it on the tests.

I’m CD8 today and starting OPKs as predicted to ovulate in 5 days based on previous cycles.

Goodgoodthings · 29/11/2021 14:16

Thanks @Tjsmjs I hope you have a really lucky cycle! I'm not going to second guess it too much, it is what it is. On to the next cycle which will hopefully brighten the January blues at least 🥲

ExPatHereForAChat · 29/11/2021 15:17

Sorry about the BFNs so far. It's such a disappointment.

I've been wearing normal socks with slipper socks over so hopefully that keeps my uterus warm ;)

Just started OPKs and the line is pretty negative, which is normal for me at CD11.

Been trying to sleep more as well as I've been feeling pretty groggy, what with DS still waking a few times at night.

Goodgoodthings · 02/12/2021 08:56

So I did say I thought I was out but I noticed that I still had a lot of EWCM - I've had it for 9 days now since CD20 (!?) and then have had strong/positive OPKs for the last 3 days.

Feeling so confused about whether I've ovulated already or if I'm just about to. Poor DH is shattered 🥲 has anyone else experienced this? Going to drive myself mad by Christmas at this rate.

I'd just entered my fertile window but one of my very close relatives passed away this week. I obviously couldn't continue ttc. Will see how I feel next month.

@Chanel05 I'm so sorry for your loss, take care of yourself ♥️

Moonshine160 · 02/12/2021 10:30

So sorry for your loss @Chanel05

@Goodgoodthings how long are you cycles usually? It looks like you’re either at your peak now, OR, I have heard people get positive OPKs when they’re pregnant.

Goodgoodthings · 02/12/2021 10:53

@Moonshine160 all over the place usually - before DD1 they could be anything from 28-40 days. Since having her they are pretty steady at 33-35 days but I'm still breastfeeding.

Thinking maybe my body has just been trying to ovulate and hopefully todays the day, feeling a bit crampy so fingers crossed!

Tjsmjs · 02/12/2021 11:29

@Chanel05 I’m sorry for you loss. Take care of yourself and take the time you need

@Goodgoodthings I would second that it may be a late ovulation with a long cycle. It can get very tiring trying to time things right. It could also be pregnancy. I had a positive OPK when I was pregnant with my son. I don’t want to get your hopes up but maybe do a pregnancy test just to check?

GreenFlipFlop · 02/12/2021 12:06

@Chanel05 So sorry for your loss. Hope you're ok xx

@Goodgoodthings I had this last month after my chemical, my cycle is normally always consistently between 30-32 days but last month was 41 days! I kept getting positive OPKs for about a week when I expected to ovulate but nothing overwhelmingly positive until about a week later. We DTD loads around when it was expected and then stopped cos I just thought maybe I wasn't going to ovulate this month or I just had dud OPKs, or that if I was going to ovulate, we surely would have caught it. Anyway, decided to stop and then took a random test a week later that was blazing positive but didn't DTD cos I thought I had duds and my period (so I thought) was nearly due! Had non TTC sex the following night but must have missed the boat, it's exhausting! I'd say keep testing and wait for the really clear positive, I wish I hadn't ignored mine!

GreenFlipFlop · 02/12/2021 12:10

@goodgoodthings I've uploaded this before but you can see all my positives but the last one is the blazing positive I ignored cos i'd had so many positives I thought I had duds 🤦🏾‍♀️ the rest were never as bold as the last one so now I know it will definitely let you know clearly when you're at your peak! Keep testing twice a day and hopefully you'll get yours! X

Goodgoodthings · 02/12/2021 12:15

@GreenFlipFlop ah thank you! Today Premom read the test as positive and to my eye the test line did look darker but I'll carry on testing based on what you've said!

Why is all of this such a minefield... so grateful to have this thread and your support.

@GreenFlipFlop how are you feeling?

GreenFlipFlop · 02/12/2021 12:25

@Goodgoodthings It's such a minefield isn't it! We DTD like 6 nights in a row and I was thinking surely we've got it?! I was knackered 😂

I've only just downloaded Premom, does it tell you positive and peak? I was using Glow's free ovulation test strip reader before but there are so paywalls it was starting to get on my nerves! If your line looks a bit darker, DTD just to cover all bases 😂

I'm not too bad though thanks 😊 currently waiting for my fertile period which is supposedly starting on Sunday with Ovulation predicted for the 9th..testing again though just to be sure! Hate all the waiting! 😩

girafferafferaffe · 02/12/2021 19:07

AF came early today. At least that means we can start again sooner than I thought I guess !

RockingGazelle · 02/12/2021 19:49

@Chanel05 So sorry for your loss. Definitely take it easy and see how you're feeling next month.

@girafferafferaffe I like your positive thinking!

@GreenFlipFlop I am so impressed by your 6 nights in a row! Even when we are really going for it, don't get anywhere close to that these days!

By my calculations I'm due AF on Sunday although Ovia says next Thursday. It seems to not alter the AF dates even though I entered data from a positive opk which made ov earlier than they had predicted. I am having a large gin tonight and looking forward to some christmas drinks - silver linings!

Goodgoodthings · 02/12/2021 20:13

@GreenFlipFlop 6 nights! Good on you, we've been trying every other day but I've got to say this is way more than I'd typically be after 😬 It's difficult to keep it feeling natural and in the moment. I did have a really strong positive this afternoon and managed to DTD, might try tomorrow if we're feeling up to it 😵‍💫

I've found Premom to be okay to be fair if not a little bit clunky - yes it tells you your high and peak and you can adjust it too if you need to. I only use it for the OPK reader thing and then Flo for the cycle tracking as I find it easier.

Glad you're okay, not long until Sunday and then at least it feels a bit better to not be waiting around doesn't it? Keeping everything crossed for you this month!

Goodgoodthings · 02/12/2021 20:15

@RockingGazelle ah I was in your position last cycle - I was so poorly over the fertile window and so we completely missed it. So typical! At least it gives you a chance to track your cycle without so much of the pressure etc. As you say there are some silver linings too for sure!

girafferafferaffe · 02/12/2021 20:34

Got to be positive really! There's a few things to look forward to at the moment so I'm okay with it not being right now.

@GreenFlipFlop I don't think I've dtd this much in the 4 and a bit years since we conceived my dd ! H is extremely pleased haha.

GreenFlipFlop · 02/12/2021 22:09

@RockingGazelle @Goodgoodthings @girafferafferaffe Honestly we were knackered! 😂 I just kept getting positives and didn't want to miss it cos I heard you're extra fertile after a chemical! I dont think sperm quality is even that good if you do it daily?!

@goodgoodthings I use Flo for tracking too, I wish they had an ovulation analyser cos then I could just stick to one app! It's annoying how much of Flo is behind a pay wall too though because it wasn't in 2019 when 1st TTC! Glad you can still track your cycle for free though!

Really hoping for another positive for one of us this Christmas! 🎄
