OPKs - when to test

Hi, I’ve just started using easy @ home OPKs. They say the best time to test is afternoon after a couple of hours hold and minimal liquid but I really struggle with this as I drink loads of water/tea/coffee in the day when I’m working.

I just keep getting really faint lines and I’m sure that’s because of how diluted my wee is!

For the last two cycles I used Clearblues and got a smiley using FMU so wondering if it will be ok to do that with these?

I usually do mine any time after midday. I'll usually have had 1 or 2 cups of tea by then.

I think the CB smiley ones are different as they track 2 hormones and use a baseline to identify your fertile days? So not sure whether the normal sticks would do as well with FMU since they only look for LH, which apparently is more likely to be apparent in the afternoon.

I test at 1800hrs 2200hrs as I find that when I get my surges. But everyone is different xx
