I know that this question probably get asked ALOT lol

But as the tiltle says Does anyone know what the chances for conception by DTD on day 3 and day 2 before O??

I think I'm ovulating today (CD 15) had a peak OPK on CD 13( darkest EVER!! In the whole 16 months of trying), but hubby doest seem interested today to DTD as he believes we will definitely be pregnant this month with the last 2 BD session lol sorry TMI (he's very confident lol)

I don't like timing BD and trying to be relaxed about it all but feel that we may have not BD close enough to OV to be successful.

Whoever said trying for a baby was easy, I feel 🤪 with it all .

As far as I know they say that you should dtd three days before ovulation and ovulation day if possible. Some people also do the day after ovulation incase there's a delay with the egg being released.

I would say you do still have a good chance! The 'theory' is based on the fact that sperm survives for up to five days. Therefore, the sperm is ready and will already present for when the egg is released. Does that make sense? Sorry if I'm making it seem complicated lol

You're always in with a chance when you DTD in your fertile window.
According to my app (Premom), it goes like this:

O-5 - 7.6% chance
O-4 - 10% chance
O-3 - 15.2% chance
O-2 - 23.5% chance
O-1 - 27% chance
O - 33.1% chance
O+1 - 6.5% chance

All other days it's 0.5% chance.

If you had a peak OPK on cycle day 13 in the morning then cycle day 14 would be classed as ovulation day

Of your peak OPK was in the afternoon then cycle day 15 would be classed as ovulation day

Also I know previous poster put up some stats but actually there are several studies that the majority of BFPs occur from DTD before ovulation

This is because of you wait until day of ovulation then the egg is only really viable for around 12 hours. Sperm had to go through a little known process called capacitation which can take up to 10 hours so you can easily miss your eggs window to be fertilised

It's better for the sperm to be waiting for the egg rather than the other way around

@4amstarts i got a positive OPK on CD 13 at at 2300hrs.

I tested again in the morning on CD 14 but it was still positive but not at strong and by the evening it was negative. Again thank for the info for sperm life span.

I feel much more hopeful for us now this month, I think I just need to tell myself to chill lol .

I wanted to update this post as I hate it when posts are incompleted with no outcomes.

I wanted to update in the hopes to give others hope and to show it really doesn't matter what your temps are, as I for one are obsessed with them 🤗

I thought we where out this month as 9, 10 and 12dpo I had negative tests, so thought that's it try next month and that's okay

2 days later still no period and thought maybe it come today, I usually have a 10 to 12 day LP, 28 day cycle and I was 1 day late. Had one pregnancy test left in the house and thought why not test it's gonna be negative especially as my temperature had dropped significantly from 36.40 to 36.12, so why am I torturing myself.

I was shocked to see a strong positive !! At 14 dpo, I honestly still can't believe it, I was in such a state of shock I ran out to the shops at 8am to buy 3 more packs as I was convinced it was a false positive, my husband thought it hilarious.

Im now 19dpo, had a couple of rough days as I was sure we where going to miscarry due to my tempertures dropping so I instantly stop tempting for a couple of days as it was causing so much anxiety, but all is going well so far 🤞❤

So never give up, even if your temp drops your still not out until af comes xx I know everyone temps and charts are different but with me it just went and showed it dosnt show pregnancy just ovulatory. Please hold hope and don't give up x x🌈👶
