Trouble titties, windy 🌬 bums, & full stockings of old 💦…TTC bus 50

When you don’t think about your days as “Monday Tuesday Wednesday” you think of them as “fertile week” or “CD12” we know the feeling.

We’ve tried baby dust (back in early 2020 I think we stopped believing in that!?, we’ve tried chocolate/pizza & sofa sex (remember that? Late 2020, that got a lot of babies!) and now we are onto manifesting, testing, pleading & yet there’s still some unwanted bleeding🤣😂well tough titties we are here to stay til we get those BFPs🤞🏻🙌🏻we just need to rinse out our foofs & get the nurses to wade through our stocking full of old sperm 💦

Whether you are TTC “normally”, IUI/ivf or anything we are a crew that cling together to the bitter end & always ready to help a sister out. We’ve had multiples, some losses so know two lines can be just as terrifying as none, and we’ve got ladies where those two lines are more illusive than a white Christmas 🎅🏻

It costs an embarrassing story for your ticket, doesn’t have to be TTC related as we know laughing when TTC is needed.

If you see mention of Instagram I have a public account where a lot of people are linked too:
Minstermusings, and a few people have created new anonymous accounts to record their TTC journey/life stupidities m/general annoyances on…just don’t mention TTC on a personal account.

@Franklydear my taste went after a few days too, I thought I dodged it but I didn't and I was fuming because it didn't actually go back to normal until September time and I had it in may!! Hope it doesn't last that long for you!

@polkadotpixie of course we remember you!! Welcome back!!

@Dollybird89 glad they've got you in quick!!

@Juno231 so sorry you're feeling down, I think we can all sympathise, it will happen lovely, I know it doesn't feel like it now but try and stay positive! Taking time away from the group seems wise❤️ I hope you start to feel better soon too x

@paintfairy hahaha oh great!! I hadn't even thought of all of that, this little cashew snuggling in me will be a summer baby too if we get there🤞🏼 didn't even think about being fat and hot during summer wtf, it also worries me trying to keep a newborn at the right temp and cool enough in this heat, and to be honest I'd rather the option to wrap myself up in baggy jumpers after giving birth, I don't want to be wearing summer dresses with my saggy tits and big belly🤣

@InkyPaper glad things are progressing for you but that is a lot of info for you take in! Break it down and take the time to process it all x

So even though I contacted the clinic to "reschedule" our app they still rang this morning so I had to tell them I'd asked to reschedule it and the woman was so arsey with me so then I felt guilty because I felt like I'd taken someone else's appointment but I did tell them so it's not really my fault! They've rearranged it for 14th Feb so hopefully I won't need it🤞🏼

Also I need some help with a good excuse, me and OH are supposed to be going to the lakes for nye with our close friends, just one other couple, it's a drinks on arrival 3 course meal nights stay use of spa full job thing, it becomes available to book on Wednesday but me and OH said there's no point paying for it when I can't drink and I'd be too early to be telling people as well so we don't know what excuse to use to the other couple as why we can't book it, it has to be good too because we were really looking forward to it and I was only sending outfit options to the girl the other week!!

Juno231 · 29/11/2021 12:29

@Franklydear tbf that's anecdotal but there's a fair amount of research that shows the opposite. I'm not surprised though, there's a huge difference between 3 and 4 and with British classroom sizes being massive (mine were 17-21 growing up) it's not like individual kids struggling would get the help they need. The gap apparently massively narrows by year 6 though so shouldn't have a huge impact.

I'd gladly take an August baby at this rate!

Hi all, sorry I've been crap at keeping up. Hope everyone's OK and congrats @lexber!

@franklydear @paintfairy Alice is an August baby and DH being a teacher says it is all a load of rubbish!

Having a tricky time with Alice's reflux again so will be quiet for a bit but trying to keep up with you all xx

Franklydear · 29/11/2021 12:59

@paintfairy @Juno231 @Kirky658 it all depends so much on the individual child and the rest of their circumstances, there’s pros and cons to every single month,
@Kirky658 just say hi every so often and vent here, my boy didn’t have reflux but one of my nephews you couldn’t put down... you too @lucyrp

Franklydear · 29/11/2021 13:02

The difference in companies, dh boss just called again to see how he is and reassured him not to try to do too much from home and be back when he’s ready, I haven’t manage to talk to mine yet, only a couple of messages, from me, to his assistant, to inform of changes

paintfairy · 29/11/2021 13:30

@Vil10 hadn't even thought about the too hot for a baby to sleep angle. But then this year there was no hot weather by August. 🤣 Ridiculous about the appointment, but not your fault.
@Franklydear you are right- pros and cons to every month. @Juno231 any month (bar December) was the point I'd got to! 🤣

I've had a letter from the midwife department. My appointment is 21st Dec. 😱 I have to pick then where I want to even have the baby. Like I've thought that far ahead?!

Juno231 · 29/11/2021 13:37

@paintfairy that was super quick! Nice to see they're organised

@Franklydear thank you for saying that about work - it's made me appreciate mine more! My old boss would expect me to WFH whilst I'll whereas my current one is grumpy i haven't taken enough sick days off 😂

@Vil10 that's a tough one! Kinda depends on how you'll be celebrating NYE instead? Eg could you make up a hospital appointment you've received for early Jan which means you'll now have to self isolate? Or claim OH is actually whisking you away somewhere as a Xmas pressie but had to tell you now as this obv clashes? Ooor are they close friends you could tell and just go do it anyway but with an alcohol free menu for you?

Hann91 · 29/11/2021 13:42

Hi ladies...af was due between Fri and Sun (11-13 dpo) but she hasn't arrived. I've done fr and cb tests both negative. I got my peak on cb opk on cd 19, i didn't have any high fertility days, just straight to peak. I don't have any signs that af is due...boobs are flat and aren't sore, no headaches or cramps although I've been having mild left side stomach and back cramps on and off since 7dpo. If I've had a peak cb opk af should be on her way shouldn't she? Or can cb opks be wrong? I started taking vit b6 and C at the start of this cycle to try as my luteal phases was short. Has anyone else found vitamins being the culprit for af being late? I also spotted until 4dpo too. Xx

Minster2012 · 29/11/2021 13:57

Late check in after awful night hacking my guts up & not breathing or sleeping 😴 doctor checked me out & said bad infection keep drinking lemon & honey & sipping water

@Bea14 good to hear you are all ok but it sucks on the no booking til you move! Are you moving far then? When we had DS through surrogacy we did a scan at 9 weeks which was the last few days before Xmas & we told our families on Xmas day, it was lovely 😊 as was going on holiday With DS when he was 11 weeks old (he was late July) so I'd recommend trying to get your honeymoon then!

Def go for the scanning near mums birthday @Vil10 will be so lovely. It's a hard one on the NYE, is there a work related excuse OH could say? Saggy tits and big belly?? You??

Isn't a Mars bar just a snickers without the nuts *@paintfairy? But def LTB 😂🤣summer babies are good & bad like you say, the waiting for birthdays is a sucker but in general they are great, I don't think I'm not very bright, mid July here & got As/A then A's then a first class degree, DS seems pretty bright so the infant years I wouldn't say would be an issue.
like the others have said less layers to go through to change nappies (big plus) & the childcare costs help & for instance DS's 3 year old 30 hour weekly funding we can get all through the summer until he starts school in sep which is great! Oh wait DH has gone to the shop, he can stay, especially if he gets you too TAKE OFF THE RHR MONITOR. I still don't feel pregnant, but stick with it! The time is torture but you are nearly into Dec now heading to your scan

@polkadotpixie hey welcome back! Let's hope it's not long again for you

@Dollybird89 yes that's def the right thing, perfect

@Juno231 its only cos you put back your appointment though cos of your fab new job, & tryst me I'm not relishing a sober Xmas so even though you are cutting down enjoy it! otherwise you'd be with @paintfairy ❤️💜I'm totally with you on the awful illness. Urgh hope it passes for you soon. Where you off before NYE?

@InkyPaper 52!! Jesssuuuussssss but a plan definitely there fantastic!! 🙌🏻

@Franklydear you could always have the first flashing smile off? It's great he's being supportive though and not like your work but we expect that now!!

@Kirky658 don't worry you look after yourselves & skim through our ramblings that's cool, hope you get to start the counselling ❤️

Minster2012 · 29/11/2021 14:02

@Hann91 hey!! The CB can be wrong yes, but unusual I guess, we've def had some wonky cycles after vitamins yes so could be that but here's hoping it's not!

OP posts:
Juno231 · 29/11/2021 14:36

@Minster2012 pfft anecdotes! Some of my thickest friends are July babies 😁 kidding aside - the money saving aspect re school and nursery is huge! Def a big pro for summer babies.

My local nursery is 1.6k a month 😭. If I'm willing to brave the tube with a kid though then my work nursery is a whopping 400/month cheaper !

@InkyPaper I forgot to comment but Jesus Christ 52 follicles!!! Certainly sounds like a freeze all on the cards - not too bad though if it means you'll have lots of frosties to choose from hopefully.

@Hann91 the CB only tells you your body tried to ovulate but it may well have failed that particular time. If so you may have more surges coming until it manages to or just a random anovulatory cycle. Our bodies sure like to mess with us!

bez91 · 29/11/2021 14:44

@Juno231 I should have known, it's usually breaking news if there's so much of a sprinkling in LDN 😆 argggh that sounds a headache for your travel plans too 😫 being ill on top of a bad mood is hard! You're not far away from January!
1.6k wow that's extreme although saying that we were paying £700ish for 2.5 days a week so for 5 days plus London prices I suppose that's about right!

@Vil10 could you make up a white lie about potentially having somewhere to move to/your sale going ahead and provisional date of 31st December? Something house related?

paintfairy · 29/11/2021 14:55

@Minster2012 is the sickness due to infection too? Rubbish. I hope you feel better soon. Yes a snickers is a Mars with no nuts, but I needed the nuts! 🤣
@Juno231 you'd be worried about the Christmas galavanting around if you were pregnant. Plus NYE would be shit. So after Christmas seems perfectly sensible as a start time. My brother is August, and I'm afraid to say not academic at all. My friend at a school was also August and I'm afraid to say the same. I was gutted that she got to do work experience at RSPCA and I had to do some a-level boring thing, in year 11, as only the 'thick' people got to do work experience. 🤣 I never stayed on for a-levels anyway.
1.6k a month?! Be pointless me going to work. 🤣
@Vil10 rubbish about NYE. You know you can't use hot tubs etc too? Complete nightmare. But not going is probably the easiest option.

The whole Christmas/NYE thing is just a ball ache. I can actually easily manage it, as long as I'm not sick by then. My NYE friend is the only person that knows. My mum wouldn't think me not drinking was weird, as I often don't for Christmas day (horses). And DHs family try to push it on you but one of us has to drive. That'll be me. 🤣 I can't exactly turn up with decaf tea though, so that'll be an issue.

Juno231 · 29/11/2021 15:02

@paintfairy how much is 200mg of caffeine in number of tea cups 😅. Christmas at my parents would be easy as dad and brother don't really drink and mum is an alcoholic so doesn't want anyone else to drink her stuff 🤣. NYE would be with friends that would know so not a problem either. Actually quite straightforward for me this year!

Now imagine 1.6k per child of you have twins... @Lexber what's the plan?? SAHM or family helping perhaps?

Minster2012 · 29/11/2021 15:20

Let's be honest @Juno231 @paintfairy we all know ppl who are thick no matter what month they are born in 😂😜how much is that nursery per day then? I had this convo with a few Ppl on a Facebook group & it seemed Peterborough & Cambridge were much worse than up here. My bro didn't pay a substantial amount more though in E5. I still think you want to have fun & drink at Xmas. Do you have any more appointments set for Jan yet or do you phone CD1?

Oooo yes @Vil10 the house thing that's a great shout @bez91 🙌🏻

@Juno231 is right @Hann91 i guess it just shows the surge but only temping confirms ovulation or not

@paintfairy if you can have 2 small cups of coffee then one day with a few teas is ok surely? Either that or take your decaf & say you have a headache? The belt btw is from "peachy belts" I have an ostrich brown leather one & love it

OP posts:
Juno231 · 29/11/2021 15:30

@Minster2012 hmm not sure per day (unless it's as easy as 85?) But attached the fee schedule for reference. OH and I have to go in for blood tests on the 16th Dec but other than that it's just a waiting game for CD1. Which currently has been revised to 31/12 😣. Will give them a ring on CD1 in Dec though to ask if I'm okay to go on norethisterone so CD1 falls around the 4 th of Jan instead.

Off to check out peachy belts as I need one too...

Juno231 · 29/11/2021 15:35

Would help to actually attach it

Trouble titties, windy 🌬 bums, & full stockings of old 💦…TTC bus 50
Minster2012 · 29/11/2021 15:46

Unless it's me being thick (could be, you know, July birthday and all!) but the maths doesn't work out to £85 but not massively far out I guess. Ours is £55 per day and fab and that's similar to our friends in Manchester. There are cheaper ones close too, that's a good idea with the northisterone

Yes have a look at the belts, I love mine it's just classic & goes with all. I don't have another buckle just the brass one it comes with. We got it years ago!

OP posts:
Juno231 · 29/11/2021 16:49

@Minster2012 I just couldn't be bothered to whip the calculator out! Looks more like 70 quid per day depending on how many working days in a month they go by. Either way it's eye watering compared to what I'm used to at home 😆

paintfairy · 29/11/2021 17:20

@Minster2012 thanks for the belt info! I'll take a look. A few teas would be ok i agree. But I'm there from about 1pm until 10pm so I'm going to need an alternative @Juno231 They have coke etc but clearly that is also caffeine. How much caffeine is even in coke? Because this is what I'm going to have to drink partly on my night out this Friday. 🙄
I don't dare lol at nursery fees. Living in denial over here. And thank christ its not twins, because my DH would actually have a breakdown. 🤭

kaylsd · 29/11/2021 18:28

@inkypaper that’s amazing news with your DH SAs did he take any supplements too or just nuts? Care don’t want a repeat SA off DH which I’m quite surprised by! I think I’ll be a similar case with the high follicles but I’m happy that the process is starting for you, although abit information overload but read it by breaking it down as and when you can 😘 hopefully I’ll not be too far behind you for that front! 🤞🏻
@polkadotpixie welcome back hunny! Hope your return is a short one :)
@paintfairy I know it’s easier said than done not to panic but can you hide your watch to stop the RHR worries 🙈 and you can have it back after 2 weeks if needs must maybe send it off with the elf on the shelf saga hiding the watch in mischievous ways 🤣 Sending hugs we’ve got your back each step of the way
@vil10 I hope you don’t need the appointment too, some people espesh Receptionists can be so sassy about these things take it with a pinch of salt!
@juno231 I hope it’s your turn next I really do, sending hugs I hope you feel better soon 😘 the prices of the nursery sounds so expensive:o maybe the work crèche would be a good shout as a option🤞🏻
@Minster2012 I hope you feel better soon, hopefully a good night sleep can make you feel abit more better 🤞🏻

Small little check in as I’m snowed under at work, last week here though and then I start my new job Monday :)

larrythelizard · 29/11/2021 18:52

Ah fuck @Franklydear that's not good on travel. How are you and DH now?

Hopefully smears aren't the only answer as I'm not due one for another 2 years I don't think!

Really pleased on your scan @bez91

Yaaay @Lexber that's the dream right there!

@Juno231 oh god tonsillitis+sinusitis sounds awful. Infertility sucks balls. Can't dress it up any other way. Sending love.

Ooh sounds like you're rolling @InkyPaper!

Chin up @paintfairy, take it day by day by day. You've done longer TWW like waiting for the outcome of the transfer.

Also I planned for DS to be an autumn baby @paintfairy - baby no 1 was due in October but that was a MMC. DS is June. And honestly, I don't care. Also we pay £1200 for FT nursery so that will save us £11k in childcare which is not insubstantial so silver linings and all that... I always wanted a child who's birthday was in the school year so they could celebrate with their friends

Although got drunk in FW last week and BD with no condom so I may end up with an August baby...HA as if one off sex ends up with a baby...!

Im a July baby and I do OK!

@Vil10 can you say it's something to do with getting a mortgage and not having the outgoings on your bank statement as you've just seen a broker or something?

Luteal phase usually stays constant @Hann91 so it'll come however long it normally does after day 19 if that makes sense?

Would a kids calpol plug help @Minster2012?

@Juno231 if you earn under £100k you can save 20% off that with tax free childcare from the government.

For a minute I read snowed in @kaylsd - that would be quite different!!

Juno231 · 29/11/2021 19:03

@paintfairy I think the Tommy's calculator lets you put in coke. Haha although I think they count chocolate too 🤣. I swap to decaf tea/peppermint tea after 4 pm as otherwise I can't sleep at night - that could be your excuse?

@larrythelizard it does suck balls, thank you! I don't think we're entitled to any tax free stuff on our household income - rightly so I suppose! Although I always love to say even the king and queen of Sweden got child benefits 😣

@kaylsd woop for it being the last week at work! Are you excited about the new job?

@Franklydear BILs Spanish OH was complaining to me about her Xmas travel plans too. It really sucks

larrythelizard · 29/11/2021 19:10

@Dollybird89 hope you get on OK at the dr tomorrow, pleased they're taking you seriously
