10 days late, negative tests

I am 33, I am not trying for a baby and have a copper coil. However, I am 10 days late on my period. I am never late and have had a perfect cycle of 28 days my whole life.

I took a pregnancy test when I was 4 days late, one again at 7 days late. Both were negative. My boobs are heavy and my nipples are sore. I have had a couple of days where I had period like pains but then no period came, just was on the day I was due on then at 7 days late.
I have an underactive thyroid but all levels correct at present.
This has never happened to me before. I am not under stress and haven't lost or put on weight recently. I have had sex a lot in last couple of months with my boyfriend, a lot more than I have for years as I'm in quite a new relationship so if my contraception was going to fail, there's a high chance I could be pregnant.
I tried to feel my coil threads and can't feel them.

Can you be pregnant and it not show on tests even so you are late?

I'm worried, it can be dangerous if you are pregnant on the coil. When I called the Dr they said to just keep waiting and do another test in a couple of weeks.
