Hi

I've just had my gp tell me my progesterone levels were at 20 & I don't ovulate every cycle.

Has anyone any experience with this? What are good levels of progesterone? He wants to do another blood test to check them again.

Also some months I produce a LOT of ewcm and other months I don't, does this mean on the months I am releasing an egg I'm producing ewcm?

Bit confused Confused

Any help or advice please?

Most clinics want to see over 30 to confirm ovulation - for reference mine was 62 do 20 is definitely low.

Ewcm is caused by estrogen so you could be producing it but still failing to ovulate. You should take up basal temperature tracking to confirm which months you ovulate.

How long are your cycles and on what cycle day did you do the blood test?

Btw if you don't ovulate they'll refer you to the fertility clinic to get ovulation inducing medication prescribed such as letrozole or clomid. Hopefully you should conceive quickly once you get the help!

Thank you so much for replying Thanks

It was meant to be 7 days before expected period, but my period arrived 4 days later... earlier than expected Confused

I have started temping but find it difficult to keep to it as I have to be up for work etc but I'll keep on with it now I know! The gp said it wasn't completely hopeless, I've already been referred to a fertility clinic and I'm waiting to hear from them!

I've heard of Clomid, have you any experience?

My cycles are regular and usually on time around 26-28 days, ranging from 5-7 days.

I'm 36 years old also xx

I didn't ovulate last month - no signs, no opk positives. Drove me up the wall! I didn't know it was a thing until then!

I did ovulate this month though Smile

I don't have much useful to add about from solidarity, and to confirm that I had no ewcm then - in fact I had very little all month until just before I had my period.

@ffiffi123 I have been under the fertility clinic due to recurrent miscarriages- in august I had day 21 blood and they were 19 so they wanted to repeat in September a couple of days later the secretary called to say that they had come back as 11!!! I was gutted as she said the doctor had confirmed I wasn't ovulating but knew I would be able to go on clomid..... fast forward a week and period didn't come. I am now 10 weeks pregnant and have seen a heartbeat at 7weeks ( I presume I ovulated a lot later as when I did a test on day 28 it was super faintSmile

This made me smile Grin I know it's not hopeless as I've read about Clomid before to help with ovulation, he said not to worry so far he just wanted to do the test again to make sure.

To be clear I have catamenial epilepsy, hormonal imbalance anyway. I produce too much oestrogen and evidently not enough progesterone which causes seizures around my period. It's controlled currently but obviously this must have an affect on fertility Hmm who knows!

We're starting to think our DD (2) is a miracle baby Thanks
