Hi guys

I am 3 weeks late for period, feel really sick and just not myself. I bought a double pack of clear blue test when I used first one it was negative with blue smudge on top and bottom of test? And when I got the second one out of the packet there was already a faint visible blue negative line on it? Then when I used the test it came back negative straight away.. What do you think? Picture attached isn’t great

No I would not rely on this. If you are 3 weeks late any test should be a blazing positive by now. Have you taken other brands of test?

Goldenelephant123 · 10/11/2021 08:38

No these are the first I’ve taken.

3 weeks late would be a very dark +

You're probably just having a rogue cycle.

RedRobin100 · 10/11/2021 08:41

Go try some different ones. They don’t need to be expensive ones either - as PP said if you’re 3 weeks late you should be getting a strong + on any old tests.

Bundaberg84 · 10/11/2021 08:56

I assume you're either having a very odd, long cycle, or you had an anovulatory cycle that didn't result in a period, hence 3 weeks late - you're maybe right before your next AF?

Pizzaandsushi · 10/11/2021 09:02

I would definitely try some different brands, even cheap ones should be fine. although by now a test should show something, so maybe it is a rogue cycle as pp said.
I will say though I’ve found the visible negative line is normal for clearblue. I had several packs with it on and used them 9-10 dpo and got very faint positives which were correct. I think because you need the extra vertical line for the test to be a positive, it doesn’t matter if the horizontal line is visible and maybe they design them this way so you don’t accidentally think one line appearing means positive because you can already see it before you even use it?

Daisysandviolets · 10/11/2021 10:05

I would try different brands, I've also found you get a better result if you dip the tests as appose to midstream x

VenusStarr · 10/11/2021 10:29

The test is invalid, there isn't a control line.

It's more likely that you haven't ovulated this cycle / having a random cycle. I hope you get answers soon.

Goldenelephant123 · 10/11/2021 10:32

Thanks guys I will try a different test
