Pregnant after a period??

CD9 - I am literally still spotting from the end of my period. It has gone on a bit longer than usual but seemed normal enough.

My period was a day or two late but I didn't test because I was sick of seeing BFNs and we were away for the weekend. AF then arrived before I needed to test.

Before this, I was thinking I might be pregnant as I did have a few symptoms, very sore boobs etc.

Anyway fast forward to last night (CD8) and this morning (CD9). Don't have any pregnancy tests so I have taken ovulation tests. Glaring peaks on both.

I consistently ovulate around CD18 and I have tested this early before and there has barely been a line so I know this is unusual.

I am going out later to buy a FRER as I'm not sure this is a good sign even if I did get a BFP but has anyone had this before?

Hi @madeinthe80z - it could be an indication of a positive but they can’t be taken for certain positives. Will be interested to see the result later - loads of luck, hope it’s a BFP for you! How many cycles have you been trying?

@madeinthe80z weirder things have happened, right? Do you still have all the symptoms you had before AF (or not AF) arrived?

Well I have horrific I digestion and have had for 5 days, been feeling a bit sick and very tired. But could all be coincidence!
This would be number 2 for us. We have been trying (but not religiously) since March. We only DTD once in my fertile window last cycle so I think it's unlikely but it would be very weird if I was ovulating right now!! I've got no other ovulation symptoms, it usually coincides with a lot of EWCM for me. I'm going to go and buy the test now. Will update 🙂

Help!! Its BFP

It's not very strong though. Wish I could post a pic but I've always had trouble posting on here. They were looking into it for me but never figured it out.

I mean, it's a very clear positive but its a FRER and I'd expect a dye stealer if I was 5 weeks along????

Hi I would contact your doctor's to get some advice. I had a positive 2 weeks after my period and was convinced from the start it was ectopic. My doctor referred me to epu where they took blood. My HCG increased but was not high enough to scan so took nearly 3 weeks for them to diagnose it. Fingers crossed for you that everything is ok but please get checked asap

Yep thats what I'm scared of. This doesn't seem dark enough.

Mine was a clear positive too. Some women do have periods whilst pregnant so everything may be ok but I would definitely get checked. I just knew mine wasn't right from the beginning.

TMI so apologies but me and DH went away, had a lot of sex, then I had my period as normal (at least appeared to be). Some say it was implantation bleeding, but there was a fair bit of it and it lasted a few days No idea what happened to this day, but DD is five now.
Tight clothes one month later, turned out I was pregnant.

That looks like a positive test to me.

I had exactly this with my ectopic pregnancy. Please speak with your gp & ask for an early scan to see if the pregnancy is in the right place.
Mine ruptured before I had chance for the scan.

Thanks I'm definitely following up with the doctor tomorrow. I just took a week's indicator test and it says 1-2. I ovulated and DTD 18 days ago. Given I squeezed out another trickle of wee for this test, this could still mean it's okay but I'd certainly like it to be readi g higher than that. Will have to see what the morning result gives me. And blood tests.

I wish I could be happy 😥

Tested at 3am....bottom test vs yesterday. Looks fainter to me. Got a doctors appointment this morning. I think this is going to be a long wait. Hopefully I will get a scan before / during the wait for blood test results.

Well, I had a scan and a blood test yesterday. They could only see the thickening of the lining of my uterus, nothing else in there yet. So it's either too early or not in the right place! Back to the hospital for bloods tomorrow to see if levels have doubled 🤞🤞

My clearblue have moved from 1-2 weeks to 2-3 weeks today

@madeinthe80z I’ve been thinking about you as it’s such an unusual situation to have a period and a BFP. I really, really hope it turns out well for you. I have a DD and they literally cause us stress from the day we see those two red lines! 🤦🏼‍♀️ Sending positive thoughts your way xx

Quick update for anyone still following.
My levels have more than doubled in the 48 hours which is good. They are at around 900. I have to do another blood test on Tuesday and then another scan if they reach >1500

Still hanging in there!

@madeinthe80z ah this is amazing news, very promising!! You must be on a rollercoaster right now! Hopefully on Tuesday you’ll know for sure if you can relax properly and start enjoying your pregnancy properly x

Unfortunately this was an ectopic pregnancy. My levels were rising by 50% every 48 hours rather than doubling and we couldn't find the pregnancy on a scan. I have been given an injection which will hopefully mean I can avoid surgery. Good luck everyone x
