Okay, first thing first - I am extremely shocked and surprised, I did not see this coming one bit this month. I am excited, but also just quite cautious because it is so early days. I think it hasn’t sank in for neither of us, so maybe a digital will make it all the more real! I will either try one today or Mon.
I got my Peak reading on OPKs last Wed morning, so according to all of my apps I was 9 DPO yesterday …possibly 10 if I ovulated that very evening. This cycle was weirdly out of whack, we basically started DTD every other day from the first day of my predicted FW (I was getting low readings throughout at this time), but my predicted O kept getting pushed back and pushed back and in the end was 4/5 days later than usual. By that time DH was so over it, so really in the actual FW we ended up DTD on O-4 and O-3. I just checked my apps and at those days my OPKs were only 0.23-0.40 (in comparison my Peak a couple of days later was 1.87!). So, having read the stats of success on those days we did DTD (I think it said 10-15% chance of conception) I had exactly zero hopes. You all know, I got on that December bus real fast!!!
The lines yesterday totally surprised me, I think I may have implanted as early as 6 DPO or even earlier if that is possible at all? Or maybe it’s twins, we do have twins in the family so not entirely far-fetched! 🙃
The only things we did differently this cycle (other than missing to DTD on the “right” days) was the following:
- Used Pre-Seed internally for the first time. Used it every single time we DTD this cycle, AND
- Made it a point to lay down and chill for 15 min or so after DTD. I even grabbed a little pillow for my bum on a couple of occasions.
Also…and sorry if TMI, but we both felt quite in the mood this time around (until when it was actually go time lol) so the sex was great, and not chore-y like it sometimes happens when you must DTD because it’s time.
Symptom-wise…unlike the previous two cycles, this is the first cycle when I did not obsess, over-analyze and pay much attention to be honest. Now that I think about it though, I can pinpoint a few things, which I thought were NOT preg symptoms and which I thought were sure signs of AF on the way:
- had a headache on 7 and 8 DPO on and off throughout the day (not sure this is related)
- Had a really stiff/painful shoulder/neck 5-7 DPO (I believe totally unrelated)
- Felt oddly cold and tired and found myself in bed by 8 pm on both 7 and 8 DPO (however….this is not entirely out of character for me 😄)
- TMI : felt quite gassy/burpy 7-9 DPO (I did blame it on the burrito bowls I’ve been loving lately)
- Felt weirdly/OTT emosh at8 DPO. I cried because I said something and DH laughed. 😬
- Felt quite hungry the past 3-4 days to the point we had dinner at 5.30-6 PM (again, not not normal for me lol)
- TMI : creamy CM the past couple of days. Nothing major tbh, just a tad unusual because I’m usually as dry as the Sahara dessert past O.
- My boobs got a bit sore 8-9 DPO, hence why I thought AF is coming.
That’s all I can think of and really not sure if it’s any helpful at all. 😬
To recap, I feel all over the place - I’m happy, excited, shocked, still in denial (it doesn’t feel real), a little anxious , and quite cautious. But at the same time I just feel this overwhelming sense of calm. It’s the weirdest thing but I just feel peace, like I can breathe a sigh of relief that things work!
I’ll keep you all posted of any updates when I test again! And I have everything crossed for more BFPs! You know these things are contagious, I hope this is just the beginning!
