Nothing visible on early pregnancy scan

I’ve read plenty online and I know nobody can give me an answer to my own scenario, I suppose I’m looking for a hand hold and some positive stories to focus on!
Last week I found out I’m pregnant. This follows an 8 week loss in April and a chemical pregnancy / very early MC last month. I have on DC who was conceived without any issue.
I went for a scan in EPAU this morning for reassurance, and there’s nothing whatsoever visible on scan. The nurse has taken my bloods and will call me later, and as my last “period” was a miscarriage I don’t have a reliable LMP so could be as early as 3 weeks. I did another urine test when I got home which is still positive, and I have had three negatives in between my miscarriage and my positive tests so I’m confident it’s a new pregnancy.
I suppose I just hope there’s people here with real life positive outcomes following an early scan that shows nothing in there!

Hi @babydungarees, so sorry you're stuck in that limbo. But as you basically don't know how far along you are, and you don't know your hcg yet, it's difficult to say if you might just be too early for a scan? I know how stupid it is to say that but try not to worry, there's nothing you can do right now but wait. XX

I only saw a sac at 5 weeks, so anything before that I wouldn't expect to see anything.
It's hard when you haven't had LMP so can take awhile to suss how far you are etc.
See what your bloods come back at, it'll be a case of monitoring

Hey op how did you get on with the blood results? Hope it was good news for you xx

babydungarees · 07/11/2021 07:57

Thank you all for replying! @mummyjojo19 my HCG is 237, progesterone 30, so looking promising! Will have another test tomorrow to see if it’s going up.
I think after my first baby was such a straightforward pregnancy I was completely unprepared to go through pregnancy loss with my second, and now the anxiety of pregnancy after that! It means a lot that you all took the time to reply, thank youSmile

Hand-hold, OP. This is such a hard time, I hope you have some good news soon. Just take care of yourself and try to find distractions.

babydungarees · 08/11/2021 15:22

HCG has dropped to 44, time to accept this one isn’t meant to be either! And take a little break from trying for a while.
Thank you all for your kind words xx

So sorry to hear @babydungarees I was rooting for you! Look after yourself, treat yourself well to everything you wouldn't be able to do while pregnant. Hot baths, wine, sushi, whatever you fancy. Sending you a virtual hug!

Thank you @Bundaberg84! Tomorrow is my last day at work before I start a new job, I’ll definitely be having a drink at my leaving do now! x

Glad you're having a bit of distraction with your new job. And yes to the good bye drinks! That's the best thing!
