Hi

Can someone shed some light on my situation

I found out I was pregnant mid October by a clear blue digital. I thought I was 11weeks according to my last period, I developed really bad cramps which resulted in going to A+E they did blood test which showed hcg levels Were 9000+ I had a blood test today which is 2 days later and they have decreased a little which the nurse said can happen, I had a scan which showed nothing but a cyst on my ovary. I've had no bleeding and realised this pain was due to constipation, I've got lower back pain now. They have put me on standby just in case I start bleeding or get severe cramps. Has anyone gone threw this and it all be OK, I have another scan on Monday thank you

Have they suggested that it could be a pregnancy of an unknown location?

I’m so sorry you are going through this Flowers

They suggested ectopic but no bleeding and pains have subsided, they saw a big cyst on my ovary which could be playing havoc with my hormones the reason it going down a smidge. I've got a scan on Monday, it's just so frustrating thank you for replying. It's nice to have someone to talk to other than your partner lol x

I'm so sorry @Dee398! At 11 weeks you think they should be able to locate a pregnancy in unknown location. At that hcg level an ectopic would have been already very dangerous and most probably would have ruptured by now. That being said if you start developing any pain, especially in the tip of your shoulder, go to emergency immediately!

They said it might be too early too see anything and I've probably got my dates wrong which Is a possibility as my periods were all over since coming off the implant, is this a possibility I've got cramps but this is due to being constipated. This is going to be a long wait until Monday thank you for replying x

@Dee398 I see. Did they do a 48h hcg blood check? To see if it doubles or not? I agree, waiting until Monday is hard.

Dee398 · 04/11/2021 09:15

They did a blood test on Monday after a scan those results were 9000+, then I went for a scan on Wednesday and the results were still in the 9000+ but dropped a little which midwife said it sometimes happens and then it could rise again. I've had 5 pregnancies and never had to count on hcg levels so it's all new to me. Still no pain or bleeding and constipation has pretty much sorted its self out

@Dee398 it's a weird thing to say and please don't get me wrong, but at that hcg level and no detectable pregnancy it's a good thing the levels go down. I'm very sorry that you'll have to go through this. The limbo is the hardest part I think. I hope you'll get your answers very soon!

@Dee398 I had an ectopic in July, my hcg levels were around yours but nothing was there. So I knew it wouldn't be viable, because there was a pregnancy somewhere, but not where it's supposed to be. My hcg levels were still rising though so I needed to be checked every two days until they could locate it. It was already 4cm big and in my right tube, I had to have emergency surgery.
So yes, everything has been okay in terms of I got the proper care and help I needed. And that's the only way I'm looking at it :)

Dee398 · 04/11/2021 09:48

Thank you. It's strange I'm getting no bleeding at all and I feel fine in myself. I'm just getting over covid which hasn't helped thank you I will update on Monday the outcome

Hi I had a little pink watery discharge this morning only when wiped, no cramps but a little lower backache. Could this start as a ectopic or miscarriage. I've only ever had pink discharge when implantation accursed thank you

They should be able to see something on a scan as a transvaginal ultrasound should be able to show at least a gestational sac once the hCG levels have reached between 1,000 – 2,000 mIU/mL.

I don't want to scare you but I would maybe go to A+E as there is a possibility it could be ectopic?

It's better to be safe. I only stress to get checked out and answers as I had an ectopic pregnancy and the only real symptom I had at the time felt like 'trapped wind'. I kept getting told it's normal and then finally got booked in for a scan where it had ruptured and I was internally bleeding. They are not good to be left.

Sorry you are going through this and I hope you get answers ASAP Thanks

Hi thanks for replying I phone epu and they said to just monitor it and if the bleeding gets worse or you become unwell dizzy really bad cramps to go straight to A+E, the spotting has stopped and I still have a little backache but nothing more. I'm going to take it easy this weekend and hope all is revealed on Monday when I have a scan
