Resting heart rate after conception

I've been wearing a heart rate tracker as I've heard that your resting heart rate increases after conception. But now I just get depressed if I don't see it increasing during the TWW.

So my question is: is RHR increase a 'symptom' like anything else – it might happen, it might not – or is the lack of an increase a sure sign that you're not pregnant? Has anyone conceived and NOT seen an increase in heart rate?

I have done ivf and recently got my bfp. During my tww I turned off my display but still recorded my heart rate and there was no change. It has started to increase slightly now, I'm 4+6 weeks. I was convinced it had failed because it was within my normal range. It's only gone up by 5-6 beats even now.

Try not to get to bogged down in it x

@pondplant there is a thread somewhere here in this forum that is dedicated to this. I was pregnant twice (sadly didn't work out but that doesn't change the fact that I was for a while) and my RHR didn't change. But I also think it depends on the tracker you're using and how "steady" your normal range is, mine is always a bit up and down by +/- 10%.

@VenusStarr That is reassuring, thank you! I hope it all goes well with your pregnancy now xx

@Bundaberg84 Right, I've seen long threads on it, which is what freaked me out as everyone is showing their graphs with rising heart rates. But I wondered if this was selection bias and if other people didn't experience that. Difficult to tell whether what you're experiencing is normal or not!

Yeah I was really dishearted actually but still ended up being pregnant ;)

Is it really helpful to you to be tracking this? It seems to be causing you stress and anxiety for no real benefit, as it can’t alter the outcome.

@Totallydefeated no not really. I think it can be used the same way as symptom spotting.
