Pregnancy test 8DPO

Can I use a clear blue early test kit yet?

It feels too early but have lots of strange symptoms. Thoughts?

First month TTC first and I’m more anxious than I thought I’d be?

Anyone had any positive tests at 8 DPO?

Just came off implant so don’t even know my cycle length but ovulated around day 14, as using a monitor to check.

If I was going to test that early I’d be using the cheapest tests only-it’s unlikely you’ve built up enough if any HGC hormone to get a proper result yet.

blink1eight2 · 02/11/2021 09:01

Wait until at least 12dpo.

Testing early can detect chemical pregnancies and can cause more uncertainty and heartache.

You're only one month in, getting into the early testing habit probably isn't a good idea.

Don't be cheerleaded into early testing on here either, it's not healthy.

All the best Smile

This doesn't make any sense.

If someone wants to test early, they should use the more sensitive test they can.

100% better to wait until a more sensible time of at least 12dpo.

WheelieBinPrincess · 02/11/2021 09:03

But yes totally agree with PP- the big testing craze and line eyes at 7/8DPO on here I think does more harm then good sometimes.

WheelieBinPrincess · 02/11/2021 09:05

I just mean if I had a strong urge to test really early (sometimes I did!) I’d try and sate the urge with the Internet cheapies rather than bust out a more expensive one- if I saw a hint of a line on the cheap ones then the more expensive one could be used to confirm. I wouldn’t test at 8DPO though, ten at the earliest.

wavecatcher · 02/11/2021 09:21

A first response is more sensitive and I've only got a squinter at 9dpo on them being the earliest.

Bundaberg84 · 02/11/2021 09:29

I personally wouldn't. On average, implantation happens around 9dpo, so you wouldn't test positive until 11dpo. This site has statistics, I find it to be very helpful:
www.countdowntopregnancy.com/pregnancy-test/dpo-chart.php?dpo=8
So over 80% of all pregnant women would still test negative by 8dpo. By 12dpo, over 80% will test positive.

I kept testing from 8DPO last cycle and to be honest it got me down and I felt miserable and obsessed by the end of it. I’m not going to test until my period is late from now on - as PPs have said it can do more harm than good. My advice would be to wait a bit.

It's really shit isn't it.

Used to affect my sleep because I would be nervous to test in the morning. Crazy.

Trainersnotslippers · 02/11/2021 12:15

Thanks all for the advice.

I have a pack of 2 clear blue 6 days early tests and also the fertility monitor with tests. I’ll wait until Saturday when I’m 12 DPO.

We’ve started trying on the basis it might take a bit of time to conceive etc so won’t be heartbroken if I’m not. I think I’m just impatient and want to know!

I've got the digital 6 days early that will either say "pregnant" or "not pregnant". Anyone got any experience of those?

If you are going to test that early you need a first response nothing else - I had years of infertility and multiple losses. Earliest I got a BFP was 8DPO but that was with twins

Definitely wait until 12dpo with those
HRHXO · 02/11/2021 14:05

Hi! I made the mistake of testing early at 8dpo and 9dpo and it really disheartened me to be honest. I've attached my pics here but now I won't be testing until 12dpo (Thursday) to save any further heartache!

I'd wait a few more days yet, I think hcg doubles every day!

Good luck!

WheelieBinPrincess · 02/11/2021 14:10

HGC douches every 48 hours, so you really need to give it more of a chance.

WheelieBinPrincess · 02/11/2021 14:11

DOUBLES, not douches Confused

Bundaberg84 · 02/11/2021 14:50

@Trainersnotslippers same thing. Even though they're saying up to 6 days before AF is due, you won't get a positive if you didn't have implantation yet. You wrote that you have the cb monitor, so do I. I only test when the monitor tells me to. Saves heartache.
