Hello, I've started OPK testing this month and I'm a bit confused. As far as I'm aware, you get a build up to your peak, you get your peak and then your levels drop. Mine dropped but then I got another rise. Can anyone shed some light please?
Photos have been attached!

Thanks

I don't use opks but the fertility monitor, it's similar though. Doesn't the app need a cycle or two to 'get to know you' so to speak to determine what your nornal levels are? At least that's how the monitor works. But the charts look alright to me?

No, with cheap OPKs it doesn't work like for the monitor.

I notice you have a long cycle - is that normal for you? You can have multiple peaks and it's always the last one that counts - the only way to confirm if you've ovulated is by tracking your BBT.

If you have long cycles and multiple peaks there's a risk you have PCOS though - and OPKs are notoriously bad for tracking ovulation then as your body's LH levels might be high in general. If so then temping is strongly recommended.

@Juno231 yeah I meant the app that is interpreting it, I thought they are kinda go through a learning phase as well

sak96x · 31/10/2021 18:56

@Juno231 thank you for your reply. Usually my cycles are between 31-33 days long but this cycle has been extremely long. I've not had a period in 45+ days. Pregnancy tests are negative. And I've had multiple highs. So I was just confused as to what's happening! But the norm for me is usually 31-33 days

@sak96x
Your body can gear up to ovulate but fail then gear up again that's prop where all the highs and peak r coming from, try tracking your bbt that will give you a clear idea of when you ovulate.

@sak96x sounds like you're having a slightly wonky cycle this time then! Carry on testing and DTD every time you get a peak - eventually one of them might be the real deal although there's also the risk you'll end up with an anovulatory cycle
