Can I use the pill to delay ovulation?

So this might be a really silly question, but we’ve been TTC for a while now so clearly not been on any contraception. My fiancé is away on business for 10 days, during which time I will ovulate, therefore we will defo miss the fertile window. If I take the pill until he’s back will that delay ovulation and therefore move my fertile window?

Technically with using the morning after pill you're delaying your ovulation. But I don't think it's a good idea to do so, no idea how it would mess up your cycle and what the additional hormones would do to your TTC plans. I think you'd mess up your chances of conception for good for that cycle, so it wouldn't matter anyway if you just miss your fertile window and try again next cycle.

If you're TTC the very last thing you want to do is take a synthetic hormone which will mess up your cycles and it could take you several months to get back to normality with them. I'd just say this month isn't the one for you, but next month might be when your fiance is back home.

I wasn’t thinking of using the morning after pill, just my old contraceptive pill, however o do hear what you are saying about it then taking months to get out of my system after

@Niater the morning after pill is no different to the contraceptive pill, just a higher concentration. Will mess up your hormones either way :)
